Outside the police station, I pull out my phone, pulling up my family chat. It’s cold as f**k here, but I can’t stand to be around Rowdy any longer. I’m afraid I might do something that will land me in a cell with Tessa.
Me: I’m going to be late.
Mom: What happened now?
Lil’Sis: I’m a tad worried about your survival skills.
Me: Good news, I won an eggnog chugging contest last night.
Lil’Sis: I don’t believe it. Pics or it didn’t happen.
Mom: Okay…
Me: The car got towed overnight.
Lil’Bro: It’s a rental, leave it.
Me: The other driver was arrested after spouting off at the cops.
Lil’Sis: I love this woman. Tell me you’re bringing her to Christmas.
