Chapter Seven TRE My eyes flutter open to “Extraordinary Merry Christmas” playing on the radio. It takes me a moment to take in my surroundings before I remember I’m in the passenger seat of the world’s smallest car with a woman who hates me behind the wheel. I rub my eyes and look at Tessa. She’s dancing in her seat, singing while her fingers tap to the beat on the steering wheel. Her cheeks are rosy from the heat blasting at our faces from the vent. I look out the frosted windows at the endless snow stretching as far as I can see, whipping up off the snowbanks on the sides of the road.
