DEMIEN'S POV I didn’t trust Lucas, but I knew that the man had powers beyond his understanding. If there was a chance that he could cure Lena and my child, then I would allow it—for now. Lucas’s hands hovered over the herbs, trembling slightly as he tried to steady himself. His usual composure was gone, replaced by a raw vulnerability that was as unsettling as the situation itself.
