Novah looked at Max with a nervous look, as they walk into the hospital to finally bring home their little bundle of joy. As they approach the nursery, she begins to cry and shake. Max looks at her with concern in his voice he says, "No, are you okay?" She shook her head as she wiped her tears. "I'm so scared right now, Max" One of the nurses heard their conversation and walked over with a smile to help.
"I couldn't help but over hear you talking. Maybe I can help." the nurse says, as she walks over with a warm smile. Novah smiles and nods. "I'm a first time mom and I'm so scared of doing something wrong." The nurse nods understanding her fear. "How about I go get your baby and we'll go from there?" the nurse says with a smile. They smile back and nod.
As the nurse returned with their daughter, Novah cried again at how precious she looked sleeping. The nurse walked forward to hand her to Novah and she began to shake again. The nurse carefully placed the baby in her arms and her fears evaporated. Novah couldn't help but smile as she leaned down to kiss her daughter's head. She smelled so good and felt so soft. Novah didn't want to ever put her down. As she turned to look at Max, he had the most loving look on his face. He looked so happy and complete with his life.
Novah's heart felt like it could explode from how cute she was but she knew she had to share her. She turned to Max and nodded to her. Max walked over with a smile and gladly took his daughter. As he looked down at his daughter, a tear slowly fell from his eye. "You know, we have to give her a name." Novah giggled as she realized she still didn't have a name yet. "I think I have the best name for her." Max looked up with a smirk. "Oh yeah? What is it?" Novah walked over and rubbed a finger down her daughter's nose. "Hope. Her name is Hope Faith." Max looked down at their daughter and nodded knowing it fit her. "I agree, that is her name."
The nurse walked up and smiled. "I heard the name you gave her and it sounds perfect for her." The nurse was smitten with her and Novah laughed. "It looks like she has stolen everyone's heart around here." The nurse just laughed and nodded. "That is very true. She is so precious and is a sweet angel." Max and Novah nods as they slowly walk to the nurses station to sign papers to leave with their Hope.
After all the paperwork is done and they're allowed to leave, Max calls Melissa. "Hey Mel. We're on our way home with her." He nods and laughs. "Yes, we picked a name for her." He nods again and begins to cry again as he turns to look at Novah. "Novah actually picked her name. It's Hope Faith." He was quiet for a moment and then he started crying harder. You could even hear Melissa crying on the other end too. "We'll be home soon, babe." He finally says, between wiping his eyes.
As they reach the car and buckle Hope in, Novah climbs in the back seat next to hear. She can't stand being too far away from her. Max and Novah quietly talk on the drive home so they won't wake her when they notice that the detective is outside their house when they pull up. Novah instantly rushes to cover as if to keep her hidden away from whatever bad news the detective has come to deliver.
Max gets out and shakes his hand. "What can i do for you detective?" He takes a deep breath and then sighs. "Well, Sam is wanting to take everything to court and fight this. He says, that Novah lead him on and that you attacked him in the beginning when he was trying to protect her." Max could feel his blood boiling with anger. Novah began to shake because she knew it meant she'd have to testify in court. She didn't want to see him again but she wanted him to pay for everything he had done to her. She looked down at Hope and remembered how she almost didn't make it here. She had to put her fears aside and do it for Hope.
Novah got out of the car with Hope in her arms and squared her shoulders. "I'll do whatever needs to be done, detective. Sam needs to pay for everything he's done." She walked over to Max and put a hand on his arm, making him look at her. "Hope almost didn't make it because of him, Max. We can't let him get away with that." Max sighed, he knew she was right. He looked up at the detective and nodded. The detective smiled and nodded. "I'll the attorneys you're willing to testify." he said, as he shook their hands and turned to walk away. He paused and turned around, looking at Hope. "She's beautiful. I'm so glad everything worked out for you in the end." He smiled, nodded and finally left.
Max wrapped an arm around Novah as he kissed the top of her head. "Let's get our Hope inside." Novah smiles and nods. She knew Melissa was eager to meet her. She could only imagine the love Melissa was going to shower down on Hope. Thankfully, Hope was still asleep after all the loud talk with the detective.
Before they could open the door, Melissa swung it open and ran to them. As she was able to see Hope she cried. "Oh my gosh, No!" she cried. Melissa pulled them both into a hug. "Can I hold her?" Novah nodded as she handed her to Melissa, who cried even harder once Hope was in her arms. She knew Hope was going to be in good hands with Melissa around. With all the drama that was about to come, the house was going to be so peaceful and safe.
