Ivy and Aziza

“You,” he said and got up on his feet. Just the reaction she had wanted. “Yes, me,” the strange woman who had interrupted the interview said with pride and got up with one of her feet. Damon could not believe his eyes, it was her, his guardian, the one who was always protecting him and keeping him safe. The feeling and the looks were all there, he could not be wrong. With ecstasy and happiness, he moved away from the chair and turned to her, still shocked that she was there physically. He had wanted to speak to her, he had so much that he wanted to say, so much that he wanted to ask and seeing her right before him was like a dream come through. Everybody in the conference room watched the exchange and questioned why the great Damon had suddenly lost all his deadly aura over a woman. He stopped right in front of her and the happy feeling in his heart disappeared when he met her eyes. No, that was not her, the woman he had known to be his guardian had dark eyes, but this woman in front of him had blue. “Now you are getting closer,” she smiled and spoke in her thoughts and a frown appeared on his face. He took a step back and stared at her closely, this woman in front of him was not the woman he thought she was. Her blonde hair was out in the open and it was just as wavy as the red hair he wished was her. “Who are you?” his voice returned hard and cold and filled with disappointment. “Ivy, Ivy Sheridan,” she stretched her hands towards him boldly and with a smile on her face. Everyone thought that she had gone mad as they gasped at her outrage, did she not know where she was? Did she not know who he was? No one stretches their hands towards him if he had not done it first, that was his power and authority and a sign of respect. Damon glared at the hand before him and turned back to the face of the woman who still had a charming smile on her face. His heart tugged at him at the resemblance between her and his guardian and he felt even more disappointed. Her blonde hair, blue eyes and pink lips made her look like a ray of sunshine. He loved darkness more. Annoyed that she was a totally different person, he turned away from her, while leaving her hand hanging in the air and returned back to his seat. Ivy glared at his back for a while, then she sighed and brought her hand back to her side. “What brings you here?” He took his seat. she scoffed at his question and for the first time looked around the conference room. “What else would there be than the same reason all this people are here?” she questioned back and again, gasps filled the air. Damon snapped his eyes to her, her tone familiar to a woman he knew but her look completely different. The way she spoke was not something that bothered him at that moment, but the fact that she was a different person. “Have your seat and do well to keep your mouth shut,” he ordered and turned back to the files in front of him. Ivy glared at him for a few seconds before she turned to the people looking at her. She ignored their taunting looks and smirked at them before she found herself a seat and sat down. The interview began shortly after and many were questioned and others were not. Most of them were sent home with tears in their eyes and others were questioned and still thrown out. Damon was heartless in his interview, he had made most men want to pee in their pants with just a glare he gave them. Being close to him was like hell itself and for those who could not withstand his hell, they were thrown out. By the time he finished with the hundreds of people in the hall, it was already dark but one person was left. Ivy looked unconcerned as she stared at her nails and frowned at it. She hated pink, yet there it was on her nails, she in fact hated a lot of things but there she was doing them. “Ivy,” his mighty voice called out to her and she flinched. She raised her gaze to meet that of the man she had come for and smiled foolishly to herself. Then she got up from her seat and walked towards him uncomfortably. One of her heels was broken so she walked like one of her legs was longer than the other. “You called me sir,” she stopped right in front of his table and the frown he had on his face deepened. “You have no qualifications to work in this company,” he deadpanned and she quickly lowered her gaze. “I can still work very well sir,” the confidence in her voice disappeared at the thought of not getting the job as she hoped. She needed the job more than any other person in there and she was willing to do anything to have it. “Do you think this is a playground?” his voice rose to a higher octave. “No, I would never,” she raised her eyes to his and lowered them immediately. she had no idea what to do, she needed to do something so she went on her knees instantly hating it at the same time, needing to do it. “Please sir,” “I’m sorry I badged in here the way I did,” “I’m sorry for everything, but I need this job. I would do anything, I can be a great p.a or secretary,” she pleaded. Charles who was quiet all along turned his eyes to the woman before his boss and glared at her. Was she trying to take the job he was hopefully securing? Damon watched her, his heart aching at the thought of his guardian. But he knew that the woman before him was different, way different than her. she would never kneel before him. How he knew that, he had no idea. Why his heart hurt to see her, he knew not. He just knew. Yet the thought of letting her go was more painful. Maybe she was his guardian after all and she was only pretending. “One trial, just one,” he finally gave in and stood up on his seat. “If you fail this, it’s over,” he turned to Charles. “Tell her all she needs to know concerning being my p.a.” he turned to the door after and without waiting for a reply from Charles, he walked away. Ivy smiled foolishly at herself and got up on her feet as she stared at the back of the man who was now her boss. He was dashingly handsome, everything about him smelt of power and wealth and she could not wait to begin her journey with him, again. Applying for a job there was not a terrible idea, it was not. Snap… The snap of fingers together made her turn her attention to Charles, who was glaring at her. “When you are done, ogling him, come on, I have a lot to do,” he turned to the door grumpily and she glared at him, but she followed behind him nonetheless as he led the way to the office that were now so full with people who were beginning their jobs almost immediately. Walking past all of them, Charles led her towards a desk that was kept outside of a bigger office which she believed was that of Damon. “Here is your office and these are lists of the responsibilities you have towards the boss,” he threw a folder on the desk. “Good luck,” he added and left her all by herself. Ivy took her time and went through the folder of files that was handed over to her. She had never worked in her entire life, neither did she have the time to go to school. Not everybody was fortunate to have such a life so she had no idea what it was like to live and work as a p.a to a man as Damon. But she was willing to try, her will to succeed was far greater and better than any other in there. Her eyes scanned the file thoroughly, making sure to not miss any point. When she finished, she raised her head to see that the entire room was almost empty. When she checked her time, it was late and they had all left except a few who were already packing and the secretary, Charles, whose office was separate from the rest but not so far away. He was still working away his time when the door to Damon’s office opened. Ivy turned her chair to watch him walk out of his office with a suitcase at hand, signifying that he had closed as well. But he stopped and turned to Ivy who was staring at him while wheeling her chairs unconcerned. She did not mind the way he stared at her, not until his gaze hardened and she quickly realised the mistake she had made. She jerked up from her seat and lowered her gaze, in respect. Damon scoffed, hating the knowledge that she had no idea why he was so angry with her. She did not have to look like someone he knew. Ignoring her, he walked away with his guards closely behind him and Charles by his side. “Sir,” the secretary called out to him when they were out of his office and almost in his car. He berated himself for what he was about to say and thought of keeping his mouth shut, but just as always, he just could not help it. “Hiring an inexperienced person for the position of your p.a might not have been the best option,” he mumbled to his hearing. Damon turned to him immediately, his eyes glaring fire and brimstone into his skull and his bones went stiff. But even Damon knew that he was right, an inexperienced person might end up being a lot of trouble, but she looked so much like her, it scared him and made him feel safer in his dangerous world. “Being a p.a is easy, what harm can she cause?” he assured himself, more than his secretary just at the same time he went over the car. Sighing heavily, he entered his car and made way to his mother’s house. He had promised her dinner after all and could not let the stressful day take that away from her. He relaxed into his chair and shut his eyes and almost immediately, the red hair devil appeared in his mind and he groaned. He still could not understand how Ivy could look so much like the red hair devil. The stress of the day made him feel a little headache and he turned to the window. The temperature inside the car suddenly felt very stiff, so he turned down his window and breathed in heavily. Fresh air was always different from the usual air conditioned air. “Turn off the air condition,” he ordered and opened the window at the other end of the car door. The air that came through the window was refreshing enough and he relaxed into his chair, while enjoying the feeling with the air from outside. He shut his eyes once more, hoping to relax or catch some kind of rest when long legs flung into the car through his window accompanied with a rush of wind. Damon reached out to his gun instantly as his heart skipped a mile and had it pointed to the intruder and the car came to a screeching halt immediately. “Easy there, prince,” a familiar voice came sharply to his ears. Her voice calmed his nerves and the look of her red hair was like blood in his veins. Her voice deadly and enticing, yet powerful. But what made him focus his gaze on her more than usual. She looked exactly like he had remembered, and she looked exactly like the woman he had met earlier. Only her hair was red, and she was the complete opposite of the other woman. Whereas, Ivy looked like the sun with a lot of life, she looked like darkness and blood with death calling. Yet he did not understand how the both of them could look so much alike? He dropped his gun, trusting her more than he would ever trust anyone and he sighed in relief. When the driver noticed that everything was all good, he started the car again. “Do not sneak up on me that way again,” he mumbled and relaxed into the seat and she rolled her eyes but he did not find it funny, not with the way his heart picked up. “Tell your driver to change his route,” she ordered without relaxing. “Take a different route,” he did as she asked without thinking twice about it. The woman had proven more times to have his best interest and he had come to trust her. Which was strange. The driver took a turn just as his boss had asked, then he turned to the woman whose aura made him feel strange. He stared at her face, truly she was the same as the woman he had hired, but he needed no one to know that they were two different people. There was no way his p.a would have easily changed and made it to his car if they were one and the same. But just to be sure, he had a question in mind. “What’s your name?” She turned to him, a hard look on her face and darkness in her dark eyes. She looked nothing like Ivy and it was killing him to have two women like that in his life already. “You should not ask questions, I would not answer them,” came her blunt response. “But you are helping me for a reason,” “Which would be known to you in due time,” “Are you human, or an android?” he questioned again and she snapped her eyes to him. Anger flashed in them and red glowing lines circled her black pupils. He was unaffected and unafraid, he had seen it before and was no longer afraid of her, not like he could easily be frightened. “What do you think?” her voice came out differently and her eyes never left his face. The question got her really angry and he did not know why. “I think you are a highly prized android, you must cost zillions,” he relaxed again into his seat. Blood pumped mightily through her heart at his pronouncement and the need to scream and unleash came down heavily on her but she held her powers in check and closed her hands into a fist. Then she looked away and brought out her dagger, turning back to him, she opened her palm. Without a flinch, she sliced her palm with the dagger and blood came dripping out. “Do androids bleed?” Damon widened his eyes at the blood that stained his car and turned back to the woman whose eyes were still red. It was still very unbelievable, humans were incapable to do what she could do and what was termed supernatural simply did not exist. “This must be a breakthrough in science,” he mumbled to himself. The woman in front of him turned to him, anger washed over her eyes and for a moment she thought of burning him but she could not. It would be a total shame to end what she had been protecting herself. He was her ticket and she was going to take her prince back home with her. “Denial is worse than death itself,” she snapped and looked away deciding to let him be for the night, the day was exhausting as it was. Damon frowned, understanding her words, but found it hard to believe that she was a supernatural being. She could not be, they were non-existent and even as he thought so, a nagging headache pierced his head. And he decided to let it be already. “What is your name then?” he continued with his questioning. Something in him wanting to hear the name Ivy, that would put his mind on rest. “Aziza,” she responded and with a rush of wind, she disappeared, leaving him to his disappointment.
