I watched Amber sleep; I could see the dragon occasionally fighting her, and my anger grew each time she made a sound.
Word reached me that her cell was ready for my men. Saving my mate required me to make her a prisoner, though I didn’t want to.
Bending down to her ear, I whispered, “I love you,” as she slowly woke.
