She's Michelle and her boyfriend for 3 years betrayed her. Gino. He cheated on her! And she can't believe it! No. She can't accept it! That's her ego that's been stepped on. Her precious pride. "I can't believe he cheated on me!" She said to one of her best friend. Psyche. " I can't believe it either, Mich. But you have to accept it. Go on. Cry as much as you want. It's alright. I've prepared boxes of tissues for you". Her friend told her while hugging her and massaging her back up and down. "No. I will only accept it , after he suffer as much as I suffered. I want him to cry more than I cried." I said fiercely to my friend while putting the tissue that I pulled into my runny nose. 's**t! It hurts' I said to my self when I touched my already swelling nose. "We've been together for more than a year , Psyche. I don't think I can accept this." "Yes you can Mich. If you just let your self." She told me with so much conviction. " I can't believe he cheated on me. Worst it's on the day of our anniversary!". I said to my friend with so much anger. I remember the day I found out about his cheating. I came to his unit with the food that I cooked for him. I prepared it with so much care. I have the duplicate key of his condo unit so I can go in and out freely. This is the first time that I will surprise him. Because in the past 3 years of our relationship we would always go out and eat in a fine dining restaurant. 'I'm sure he'll like this. No. He'll love this for sure. This is the first time that I'll surprise him. I'm very excited to see his surprised face'. I said to myself while walking to the hall way. I got the key in my right hand, while in my left hand are the food that I prepared only for him. For us. "Hey Gino". I said while entering his unit. "Gino, where are you?". No answer. "Are you in the kitchen?" I said while walking towards his kitchen. 'He's probably in his room right now. Probably tired from his work.' I thought to my self. "My poor baby". I said while thinking of his tired face. I left the foods in the kitchen and then I started walking towards where his bedroom is located. I happily walk towards his bedroom. When I finally reached his room, instead of him being surprised. It was me who was surprised. Him at the top of my new found friend Jenny. I remember when he introduced her to me. He said she's Jenny, her coworker. She's just new in the company so he's the one who's accompanying her. Ofcourse I didn't suspect anything. It's his job afterall. After he introduced her to me. We became friends , we clicked. We get along. We've got the same taste , the same everything. That's why I didn't suspect anything. And now. "What the—". I can't continue what I'm saying. I'm lost for words. They stopped. Realizing that they're not alone anymore. "s**t". "Baby let me explain". He said while putting his boxer short. "Don't you dare call me that! DON'T TOUCH ME! YOU DISGUST ME!". I shoutingly said to him. I walk out of his unit. I can't bear being in the same place with him. After that incident I decided to go out , clubbing. I won't cry. I'm gonna drink and dance and party till I drop. He's not worthy of my tears. "One more". I said to the bartender. I'm here sitting in the stool. I'm gonna drink before I dance. 'He's not worth my tears'. I said to myself repeatedly. It became my mantra for that night. "I'm gonna go dancing now". I said to myself. Getting up from the stool. "Ouch". I said to myself when I stumbled while getting up.My surrounding is spinning. Or is it my head that's spinning?. "Careful lady". I heard someone say , while grabbing my waist to help me stand up. "I'm careful". I said to him. "Really?. Because if you are , you're not gonna get hurt". He said to me unconvinced. What he said to me triggered something. "Oh yes, I'm careless. Very careless." I said laughingly. "So careless". I said chuckling. I remember what happened earlier. 'I shouldn't be thinking about this'. I said to myself while shaking my head. Because of that, my head hurt more and my surroundings became unsteady. "You're drunk". He said. "I should get you home". He said while dragging me to the exit. "No. I want to dance. And wait, do I know you?". "Do you know me?". I asked pointing to myself. "Of course I know you. Who wouldn't. It's you who can't remember me". "Remember you?. Why?. Do we know each other?". My eyelids are now heavy. "Thanks". He said entering the drivers seat. That's all I can remember that night. Because I woke up in a different room. This is a bachelor room. From those black and grayish wallpaper. Gray curtains. This is totally not my room. "Glad your awake". He said while walking towards the bed carrying a bed table. "I-... W-who are you?". "It's me, Adam". "Adam?". I don't remember any Adam. Or is he the Adam that I turned down 4 years ago. "Are you Adam—". "Yes, yes that's me". He said cutting me off. "B-but, how come?". "You should eat this before it gets cold". After eating he left the room carrying the bed table. I get up from the bed and went to the bathroom of his room. 'I probably look like a mess.' I went outside to find him. I found him in the living room talking in his phone. I don't want to disturb him so I waited for him to finish. "Yes, I found her". I heard him saying over the phone. "Hey". I said sitting in the couch informing him that I'm here. "Talk to you later". He said then hanged up. "Do you want to go home?". He asked nearing me. "Yes, I don't want to disturb you or bother you anymore". "No , you're not disturbing me at all". "Where can I find a taxi here?". I asked him readying to go. "No, I'll drive you home". "Alright". I agreed because I remember I don't have my wallet in me nor my phone. I probably left it in the bar. "So what happened?". He asked. He's now driving. "Nothing". "You know, it's good to talk to a friend sometimes. You can tell me. I won't judge". He said urging me to talk. "Well you know I've got a boyfriend right. I found out that that lying bastard cheated on me". I spat angrily. "You know if you've just chose me, this won't happen. I will never cheat on you". He said not minding my anger. I didn't respond. I didn't chose him that day because he's too good for me. And also I'm afraid of what my friends would say, if he bacame my boyfriend. Back then, he looks like a geek. A dork. He's nice and somehow I got feelings for him but fear led me. Fear of what my friends would say. I don't want that. That's why I chose that bastard overhim. And somehow I developed something for that bastard. "We're here". He said cutting my trail of thoughts. "Uhm... Adam, Thank you" . I smilingly said. But before I got out he reached for my hand. How can I get back at him by dating you?" "We'll make him jealous. Make him realize what he lost". "I'll think about it". "Why not do it Mich? It's a perfect plan". Psyche said. I told her what happened and what Adam told me. "You think so?". "Ofcourse Mich. Grab that opportunity to get back at him. Remember all the pain he caused you. Everything!". I suddenly felt anguish. So much anger while remembering how he moved on top of her before my eyes. God I can't believe it!. "I'll date you". I said to him. I called him yesterday.I've got his number when he brought me back my purse and phone. "R-really". He said still disbelief by what I said. "Yes.So tell me what's your plan". We're now inside a bar. I found out that those two of a bastard are here partying. They're now drinking in a table not far from where we are. "Let's go dancing". I said to Adam. I pulled him into the dance floor. Making sure that they can see us. I started dancing. He put his arm in my waist so I put both of my arms in his neck. He pulled me closer to him. I looked at him to see his face. "Is this part of the plan?". I asked while he started dancing and still pulling me closer to him as if our distance isn't enough. "Hmm". He said moving his face to my neck. I could feel his lips. I could feel his breath on the shell of my ear. I'm savouring the moment. Feeling him. When someone grab me from behind. "So you're here partying Elle. I called you many times and you didn't answer. And you're just here dancing". He said angrily to me. How dare he grab me and shout at me like that as if he didn't cheat. Thinking that makes me burst in rage. "How dare you touch me!. You're the one who cheated so don't go around like you're the one who've been cheated on! Let me remind you! YOU CHEATED SO DON'T ACT AS IF YOUR MY BOYFRIEND!". "WE DIDN'T BREAK UP ELLE!. We just had a misunderstanding". I laugh hysterically. "f**k your misunderstanding!". "You sick lying bastard!". "I f*****g HATE LIARS!. ESPECIALLY YOU!". I shouted angrily. "Let's go Adam!". I said as I dragged him outside. "Michelle". He called me softly. "What is it?". "I want to be honest with you". He said seriously. "You said you hate liars, that's why this time I'm gonna be honest with you. No more lying. No more pretending". "I want you. No. I love you eversince I courted you. I was so heartbroken when you dump me. So I change myself. I want to be better for you. I want to be the man who you'll be proud of. The one who you'll boast around with your friends and not be ashamed of. So please. This time don't dump me. Give me another chance to show my love to you". He said with so much sincerity and hope in his eyes. I don't know if it's his eyes that sparks hope. Or if it is his burning love for me. Or if it is the atmosphere. Or maybe it's my hidden love for him. My love for him that I long suppressed because of my friends. But seeing him now. I don't care about what my friends would tell me. I don't care anymore what they'll say. This time I won't hide it. I won't suppress it. And that's when I realize that the sweetest revenge I could possibly do is to be happy. I didn't realize this was his plan all along. I was blinded by my anger that I didn't realize what I agreed into. I might've seen his trap. But it was the best and sweetest plan I could ever think of. If he haven't done that. I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be here resurfacing my love for him. If I were to choose. I'd totally love to be in his trap again and again.
