___________________ . . . "Achoo!!" Vienna sniffed as she pulled out another tissue from the box, wiping her nose with it. It was her sister, Samantha's idea, dancing in the rain but the both of them had ended up with a really bad cold.  "She is a baby!" Her mother, Iliana, was telling her other daughter before she closed the door and popped her head into Vienna's room. "You want anything else, sweetheart?"  "Nothing Mommy.." Vienna put extra frosting into her words.  Though Samantha and Vienna were twins, being twelve minutes younger and the quieter, sweeter one of the duo, she was her parents' little princess.  Of course both their mothers loved them equally, but it was Vienna who always got out of trouble faster. But then again, the quiet, asocial girl rarely got into trouble unlike her wild sister, and nine of ten times, these troubles were because of the great Samantha Rock.  "Okay baby." She smiled.  "Mom's not back yet?" She asked, referring to her other mother, Paula Rock, the sheriff of their town.  "Something about me not letting her do paperwork at home." Iliana rolled her eyes while Vienna smiled. Her parents weren't shy above their affection and attraction towards each other and the daughters didn't find it gross either. "I will let you rest now." She smiled and closed the door behind her.  Vienna laid back in her bed, cursing her stupid sister in her head as she felt a migraine coming on. It was the weekend and she had tons of classes and assignments to catch up on. The last thing she needed was to fall sick like this.  She sighed and picked up her phone, opening the i********: app and going over to Luke Sherman's page. Luke was a senior at her school and she had a major crush for over one year now, but she could never gather the courage to tell him or anyone else about it because... well, she couldn't. There was a knock on sliding door to the balcony.  Vienna didn't need to look up to know who it was. She rolled her eyes as she dragged herself out of bed. As much as she wanted to let him stay out in the rain, she knew that the i***t would keep banging on her window until she let him in.  She unlocked the door and waddled back to bed, not giving the guy even a glance.  "How ya feeling, wussy?" Archer Whitman asked as he invited himself in to her room.  "Sam's in her room so get the hell out of mine, Whitman." Vienna said impassively as she got back to her phone.  "Her highness is not willing to give this poor peasant even a second?" Archer pouted sarcastically as Vienna rolled her eyes again.  "Get out, Archer." Archer grinned and walked out of her room. He wasn't too fond of his best friend's sister either.  Samantha and Archer had been best friends since kindergarten. Even though Vienna did hang out with the both of them most of the time, she and Archer never got along. And she always backed out of the crazy plans they came up with because, well, someone had to use their brain.  And so she was the odd one out among the three. Not that she cared - she liked keeping everything to herself and staying low unlike her sister and her best friend, who were always standing out.  Samantha's room was right across hers and though she too had a similar architecture and a balcony, Archer always climbed up to Vienna's because their parents' room were right below Samantha's, and though Archer never admitted to it, he was scared of Sheriff Paula Rock.  Vienna stared at her phone, at a candid picture of Luke after he won the Sports scholarship to Yale.  She was going there in two years too - she had promised herself. It might be just a teenage crush but right then, it was the force that drove her to do better and she wanted it to stay that way for a while longer. . . . Samantha covered her mouth to stop laughing, an unsophisticated snort escaping her lips as Archer mimicked his aunt, Ruth, walking around with her pregnant belly.  He stopped and turned to his best friend. "You know, it's even more hilarious when she gets mad at Uncle Jim." "That happens a lot these days, doesn't it?" She laughed. Her sound was coarse and scratchy and her throat hurt but she was having fun with her best friend.  "Yes." He whisper-yelled, plopping down at the foot of her bed. "Do you know what she got mad at him for today afternoon?" "What?"  "For painting the fence white..." He said. "Seven years ago."   Samantha snorted like a pig again, covering her mouth. There was never a dull moment with her best friend around. Everyone thought they would make a fantastic pair  but they they were too much alike;  when they looked at each other, it was looking at each other's reflection.  "You are going to wake up my mom!" She whisper-yelled, laughing.  "Paula's gonna skin me alive if she finds me here like this!" They had been friends for years but the mothers had never caught the boy in the house uninvited ever. They knew that one day or the other, they would, but till then, the two best friends wanted the thrill of having one of them sneak in.  Of course, Vienna as always thought it was a bad idea. It was not like their mothers weren't going to let him in through the front door. She missed out on all the fun and thrill and just concentrated on the stress that was caused by all the sneaking around.  It was a wonder to Archer how both these girls came out of the same woman when both of them were so so different.  "Mom P is not here. But Mom I got the ears of an elephant, but you know that already."  "I think she already knows that I sneak in." He shrugged. Iliana had quit her job when the couple had decided for artificial insemination. Paula loved her job while Iliana wanted to concentrate on her passion for writing. She had three successful crime novels to her name but she was a stay at home mom and the three kids knew that the woman more or less knew about Archer sneaking in. She just kept mum about it because she knew that nothing fishy was going on.  "I think too." Samantha grinned as she took her best friend's  hand. They stayed there like that for a few moments. "I better get going." Archer finally said. "Vienna will throw a fit if I wake her up. I will come visit you in the morning."  Samantha nodded. Even she was feeling extremely sluggish. It sucked to be sick after all. Archer snuck out of her room and back into Vienna's. And as expected the girl had forced herself to stay awake until the i***t left the house.  "Don't you trust me to leave quietly even if you fell asleep?" He gave her a sarcastic pout while she rolled her eyes.  "I wouldn't want myself alone with you even if I was dead." Vienna rolled her eyes. She was finding it hard to even keep her eyes open but she still was going to sit up on her bed until the boy had left the premises.  "Is that so?" Archer raised a brow and then walked over to her, while she narrowed her eyes at him.  "Archer, get out of my room." She said evenly, giving him the death glare that was exclusive to him. She had never lost her temper with anyone but him. "Nope." He popped the 'P' as he plopped down on her bed, making Vienna's eyes widen in surprise.  "Get out!" She whisper-yelled while Archer wiggled inward, pushing her to the side, so that he had more space to lie on.  "What the hell! Get out of my bed, you little dung beetle!" She whisper yelled, cursing her stars for making her dear sister have such a despicable best friend. Why was she having to deal with him? "I am not leaving until you fall asleep." Archer said, a satisfied smirk on his face as he turned around so that he was facing her.  "I guess you will have to wait until Mom gets home, finds you here, and kick you out herself and make sure that you never get to enter this house again." Vienna smiled sweetly, happy at the thought of her mother, Paula, kicking this little piece of s**t out of her house.  Archer rolled his eyes. "Trust me babe, you are going to fall asleep before that."  Vienna thought she was up for this challenge though she was drowsy from the illness and the medications she had taken earlier. Whatever be her limitations, she still wasn't giving in to this little piece of s**t.  She would have to be dead and cold before that happened.  "Let's see." She said, her eyes filled with determination.  "Let's see." Archer smirked. . . . ____________________ ______________________ . . . "Honey?" There was repeated knocks on the bedroom door. And this time, it was the twins' other mother, Paula, who was outside.  Vienna scrunched up her face as her slumber was disturbed. "Mommy, five more minutes!" She moaned.  Paula let out a chuckle. "It's a Saturday darling. Get all the sleep you want. Mommy will see you in the evening." Unlike other professions, Paula's wasn't that could let her take the day off or have holidays as she pleased. Especially not in the small time which was always full of assault and squabbles.  "Okay." Vienna mumbled as she hugged her pillow, which was extremely hard? A bit too warm? And had a heart beat? Vienna's eyes flew open and she found herself breathing against a hard wall. She raised her and came face to face with the chin of the boy she hated the most in the world.  She had to suppress her urge to scream as she pushed him hard, knocking him off the bed and onto the floor.  "Honey?" She heard Paula's voice.  "I am okay!" She yelled. "My water bottle just fell off the night stand." It was the best lie she could come up with.  If it was Samantha who said it, Paula would have come and checked at once. But her undying trust on her younger child made her stop in her tracks. "Okay, you sure you okay?"  "Yeah!" She yelled and then covered her mouth to cough into it, worried that her mother would check on her and find the boy who was cluelessly looking around the room as if he had no idea where he was.  Vienna moved her lips, cursing him silently as she tiptoed to the door and locked it, thanking the stars for not making Paula open the unlocked door.  "Why am I here?" Archer asked groggily, rubbing his eyes.  "That's exactly what I would like to know!" She hissed at him as she tiptoed back to him. "Why the hell were you sleeping on my bed?" "I must have fallen asleep..." He shrugged.  Vienna gritted her teeth. If murder was legal, she would have killed this boy when they were in kindergarten.  "Get. Out." She gritted out. Now, Archer was someone who had no problem challenging Vienna any time of the day but the sinister look on the girl's  face told  him that it was not the best of times to do it. Also, Sheriff Paula Rock was home so it was necessary to get out of the premises as soon as possible.  "I am leaving." He said as he raised his hands in the air, getting up from the floor.  Vienna gave him her death glare until the boy closed the balcony door behind, turning to the pipeline he always used to climb up and down her balcony. Vienna wondered if she should ask her mothers to remove that thing from their somehow but then she thought that the stupid boy would of  course come up with some other idea to climb up again, and it could be dangerous and cause her trouble.  Archer bit his lips as he snuck past the kitchen window, through which he could see Ileana and Paula making out. He wished he could go the other way but the dog next door would start barking and then he would definitely be found out. He had to somehow reach the front of the house and he managed to do so until he heard the front door open.  He quickly turned around, facing the Sheriff.  "Hi Mrs. Rock." He gave her one of his charming smiles. He knew that it didn't have as much effect on Paula as it had on Ileana. It was safe to say that Vienna had gotten her intolerance to this boy from her mother.  "What are you doing here so early in the morning?" Paula narrowed her eyes at him. "Knowing you, you shouldn't be even up by now."  "Uhhh..." Archer tried to think of some excuse which would be good enough for the dragon lady.  "Oh hey Archie!" Ileana came to his rescue. "Are you hear because you heard Sam was sick?" She asked, a hidden twinkle in her eyes.  "Y-yeah... She called me yesterday but I couldn't come because it was too late already." He rubbed the back of his neck as he lied.  Ileana gave him a knowing look which just convinced him even more than she knew that he snuck in. He was just glad that Paula didn't know because she would not hesitate a moment before shooting his head off.  "Come on in." Ileana said before Paula could shoot any more questions at him. He nodded at her and grazed past the Sheriff who was giving him a tight smile and he knew that if it wasn't for Ileana and Samantha, Vienna and Paula would have never let him in their house.  He flashed them another smile before climbing up the stairs.  "I do not like that boy at all." Paula breathed out.  "Oh come on Paul, he is such a nice kid." Ileana tilted her head at her wife. "We saw him grow up with our girls." "He and Sammy are way too alike." Paula shook her head. "They are both trouble and together, they are disastrous."  Ileana rolled her eyes and gave Paula a small push. "Now now, off you go Sheriff. Don't you have work to do?"  Paula turned around, smirking at her wife. "Someone seems to be in a hurry to kick me out of my house." She pulled her wife closer to her, wrapping her arms around her.  Ileana smiled blissfully as she stared at her wife and the love of her life. "Come home soon honey." She whispered.  "I will." Paula smiled, placing a chaste kiss on her lips before pulling away. She took her coat and car keys. She had way too much to do that day. . . . Vienna wanted to scream and break things. That little piece of s**t had slept on her bed with her and she was so tired last night that even she had not noticed herself or him falling asleep.  She didn't like the dude one bit, and she thought that he had just proven her point of not wanting to be alone with him. He was just a scum bag who only caused trouble and she was going to stay as far away from him as possible. She believed that it was for the best that she maintained her distance. Of course she could not completely cut him off because he was Samantha's best friend but she was going to make sure that this particular moron didn't come anywhere near him.  She suddenly heard her sister's laughter from across the hall. She narrowed her eyes. She didn't have to guess the reason for her laughter - she knew that the asshole was back in the house and recounting the last night's happening to her twin sister though she wondered what exactly the piece of s**t had to say to her darling twin when he himself didn't know how he had fallen asleep on her bed.  Vienna sat down with a huff, taking her phone out to go through her i********: again or more specifically, the i********: page of one Mr. Luke Sherman. She sighed as she stared at her crush. It ached her heart to know that the boy didn't even know of her existence while she was all heart eyes for him, and it was even completely out of character for her.  She wondered if he would have noticed her if she was more like her twin sister than herself. But then she shook that thought away. Vienna was very confident about herself. So what if she wasn't an extrovert or a trouble maker? She was still Vienna Rock, a beautiful girl with a smart brain in her head. She was no pushover. She was proud of who she was, though she was different from most kids her age. She liked to keep to herself but that was solely her business.  She tossed her phone aside and walked over to the mirror. Her eyes, nose and cheeks were pink from all the sneezing and coughing she did. But she still looked cute.  She plastered a smile onto her face.  She had things to do and she was not about to get it done if she was going to walk around cursing some low life who meant nothing. She needed to take action and get the things done so that she didn't have any more work piled.  She blocked out the unsophisticated laughter and snorts from the other room and decided to freshen up and get some of whatever yummy breakfast her mother had made before she locked herself up in her room to get her things done. "Yo!" She was about to open her wardrobe and get a change of clothes when the sudden shrill voice made her jump.  She looked at her twin with her eyes wide, clutching her heart which was beating against her rib cage from the fright she had just received.  Samantha burst out laughing seeing the expression on her twin's face.  "What?" Vienna glared. "I heard what happened!" Samantha exclaimed, her eyes twinkling.  "So?" Vienna rolled her eyes. "You think I care?"  Samantha rolled her eyes and walked over to her sister, hugging her from the back. "It's not a big deal right? You are not mad at him right?"  Vienna rolled her eyes again. "If it wasn't for the fact that he is your best friend, he would have six feet under by now."  . . . _____________________ ______________________ . . . "Honey?"
