Chapter 3
SADY REMEMBERED WHEN Viki first came to him as a student. He had looked younger than his age, was petrified of his tutor Alius, stuttered and mumbled his way through his weather reports and got terribly upset if people questioned his science.
The job of Chief Meteorologist had been thrust upon him when Sady challenged for the position of proctor and won, and Sady had fully expected the Meteorology Department to replace him as soon as they got a selection process going.
But Viki had very quickly grown into a confident young man. He was thorough, gentle, patient and kind. Most importantly, he dealt well with conflict, never showed his anger in public and shrugged off the ridiculous demands, claims and conspiracy theories that always surrounded the job of Chief Meteorologist.
