Chapter 13 The priest’s residence was made of the same dark gray stone, but was far less grand than the church proper. The windows were few and made of plain glass, covered with white curtains. “I’m sorry, I’m no expert in church matters,” McDuff said before they got to the plain wooden door. “Not much about any church, really. Did you say this is a woman?” “I did. You’re in luck, Rob. Dr. Marchér happens to be an expert in…I’ll just say things that have been said to cause odd behavior.” The priest opened the door before McDuff could ask any questions. A small, surprisingly bright sitting room was just inside, filled with several dark leather chairs and a bright floral sofa that looked far more comfortable than the pews.
