PROLOGUE
Heavy rain followed by bolt of lightning illuminated the realm of Insula; this is the place where the High gods dwell. The displeased high god, Astarus pointed his staff to the two lower gods in front of him.
“Insolent!” The high god, Astarus roared. The two young gods flinched. Damaris held Pallas’ hand tightly as they face the wrath of the high gods in front of them. High gods, Koronis and Kaisa took their whip out and started whipping the poor lower gods. Damaris quickly shielded Pallas from the whip while Pallas cupped Damaris’ face and started crying.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry!” Pallas cried. Because of him, the High gods found out about their affair. If he didn’t insist on seeing Damaris this will never happen. Damaris shushed him and winced when the whip hit his body.
“Don’t cry, my sweet. Everything is gonna be okay.” Damaris consoled his lover. The high gods strongly opposed their affair because they are both men. It’s against the law of the gods. Lightning flashed once again and thunder rumbled. Astarus walked to where the lower gods are and grabbed Pallas’ hair that made him yelped in pain.
“Please high god Astarus, please let us go. I’m begging you!” Damaris begged. Never in Pallas’ wildest dreams would he found Damaris begging for mercy but now he did. Damaris swallowed and knelt on the ground. He would do anything for his lover even if it means lowering his pride and everything he has. Pallas’ tears started streaming down his face. What is wrong with two people loving each other?
“Imbecile! You do not have permission to speak here!” Kaisa shouted and slapped him in the face. Astarus glared. “You shall be punished! What you did is an insult to the gods! Men having an affair?! Ridiculous! Shameless!” He roared. He pointed the staff above and bright light started flashing through the sky.
“You shall no longer live as gods and you will never ever remember each other! For the laughable love that you have, this is the punishment of the gods!” He casted. Damaris held Pallas’ hands and kissed his forehead. Ceres smiled at the scene. She’s behind the chair, hiding herself. It was her that reported their affair to the high gods.
“I’ll find you. Wherever you are in the world, I promise, I will.” Damaris said.
Pallas’ hastily nodded his head and kissed his lover for the last time. “I will wait for you, my love.” The light fades and the two lower gods are nowhere to be found.
