The moment he carried me back to the house, I knew that my chances of escape were diminishing with every passing second. My heart raced, not just from the physical exertion, but from the fear and anger swirling inside me. The house loomed larger as we approached, its walls a prison I couldn't break free from.
He pushed open the heavy wooden front door with his shoulder, still holding me tightly in his arms. The warmth of the interior enveloped us, a stark contrast to the cold, damp forest outside. He walked straight through the house, ignoring the curious glances of the other pack members, and carried me up the stairs to a room at the end of the hall where I slept last night.
The room was tidied up not like I had left it when I went for breakfast. He set me down gently on the edge of the bed, his hands lingering for a moment longer than necessary before he stepped back. I glared at him, my anger simmering just below the surface.
"You can't keep me here," I said, my voice shaking with a mixture of fear and defiance. "I will find a way to escape."
He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he regarded me with a mixture of frustration and something softer, almost like regret. "You need to understand that you're not a prisoner, not really. This is your home now little mate."
"Don't call me that! And you call this my home?" I spat the word like it was poison. "This will never be my home. You killed my father and took everything from me. How can you expect me to ever accept this?"
His expression darkened at the mention of my father. " I don't expect you to understand, what happened with your dad but I don't regret it one bit."
“You monster!”, I screamed and charged at him intending to s***h my claws across his handsome face “I’ll kill you!”, I sobbed.
“There is more to the story the truth “, he said trapping both my hands in his and shaking me a little.
"I don't care about your truth," I snapped. "All I know is that you took him from me, and I'll never forgive you for that." that night I remember my father asking me to run but I couldn't so I witnessed how Faruk murdered him. He killed him and destroyed my pack and everyone I ever loved.
He moved closer, his presence overwhelming as he loomed over me. "I don't need your forgiveness, little mate. I just need you to accept your place here."
I shrank back, hating the way his nearness made my wolf stir with conflicting emotions. "I'll never accept it. I'll fight you every step of the way."
A muscle in his jaw tightened, and for a moment, I thought he might lose his temper. But then he took a deep breath, his expression softening slightly. "I admire your spirit, but it's going to get you hurt. You're not just fighting me, you're fighting the bond between us. And that's a fight you can't win."
I looked away, refusing to let him see the fear in my eyes. "I'll find a way," I muttered. "I have to."
He sighed again, turning away from me to head towards the door. "Rest now," he said over his shoulder. "You're going to need your strength."
With that, he left the room, the door clicking shut behind him. I sat there for a moment, my mind racing with thoughts of escape. I couldn't stay here, couldn't let him break me down. But for now, I needed to rest, just like he said. I needed to gather my strength for the next opportunity.
I lay down on the bed, exhaustion pulling me into a restless sleep. My dreams were filled with images of my father, of the fight that had taken him from me, and of the Alpha who now claimed me as his mate. I woke several times, the bond between us tugging at my consciousness, it was getting stronger I wasn't going to be able to ignore it any longer especially when I was in heat.
“Our mate”, Sky began.
“Don't start with me Sky..”, I warned.
I closed my eyes and decided to sleep and wake up later to think of another plan, the bond reminding me of the connection I couldn't sever.
When I finally woke for the last time, the sun was setting, casting a warm glow through the window. I sat up, my body aching I really exerted all my strength in trying to escape and stopping him from mating me. But one thing I knew for sure I wouldn't let him win for the sake of my father.
A soft knock on the door interrupted my thoughts, and a young woman entered, carrying a tray of food. She looked at me with a mixture of sympathy and wariness as she set the tray on a small table near the bed.
"Alpha asked me to bring you something to eat," she said quietly. "You should try to eat something. You'll need your strength."
I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. She gave me a small, encouraging smile before leaving the room, closing the door softly behind her. I looked at the food, my stomach growling despite my turmoil. I ate quickly, knowing I needed to keep my strength up if I was going to find a way out of here.
As I finished eating, the door opened again, and this time it was him. He leaned against the doorframe, watching me with an unreadable expression.
"Feeling better?" he asked.
I didn't answer, glaring at him instead. He sighed and stepped into the room, closing the door behind him. "We need to talk," he said, his tone serious. "This fight between us can't continue. It's not good for you, and it's not good for the pack."
"Then let me go," I said, my voice trembling with frustration. "If you care about what's good for me, you'll let me leave."
He shook his head. "You know I can't do that. You're my mate. The bond between us is too strong to ignore. Youre the Luna of this pack"
“Don't call me that!”, I yelled.
I stood up, facing him with all the defiance I could muster. "I will never accept you," I said, my voice firm. "No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, I will always hate you for what you've done."
He took a step closer, his eyes locked onto mine. "Hate me all you want," he said softly. "But you can't deny the bond. You can't deny what we are to each other."
I felt tears welling up in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. "I will find a way to break this bond," I said, my voice shaking. "I will find a way to be free."
He reached out, gently cupping my face in his hand. "You are free," he said quietly. "You just don't realize it yet."
I jerked away from his touch, anger flaring inside me. "Don't touch me," I hissed. "I don't want anything from you."
He sighed, dropping his hand to his side. "I know you hate me," he said. "But I will do everything I can to make this easier for you. I promise you that. You mean a lot to me."
I didn't respond, turning away from him to hide the tears that were now streaming down my face. He stood there for a moment longer before turning and leaving the room, the door closing softly behind him.
I collapsed onto the bed, my body wracked with sobs. I hated him, hated the bond that tied us together, hated the way my wolf betrayed me at every turn. But most of all, I hated the small part of me that couldn't help but respond to him, that couldn't help but feel something more than just hatred.
I didn't know what the future held, but I knew one thing for certain: I would never stop fighting. I would never stop trying to break free. And maybe, just maybe, I would find a way to escape this bond and be truly free once again.
