chapter 12

1239 Words
After eating some leftover pizza for breakfast and finding a shirt, Jason drives me towards my house. A perfect Saturday morning like this and he wants to keep me inside. "Don't you have any other gang to kill off? Can I help again?" I ask, in the front seat, next to Jason driving. Richie stayed back at the house. He said he didn't want to deal with us. "Soon, but not now. I'll come and get you on Sunday, so look for my call." I suck my teeth and roll my eyes. All I wanted was to see a guy bleed out to death. That's all I want. Its what I need. We should just stab our fingers through his eyes and feel them burst under our fingertips. A shiver of excitement crawls up my back and I struggle to control the slight twitching in my fingers. I can't, Jasen is my source of entertainment, what would I do without him? I sigh. I'll find someone to murk, eventually. It's either Jasen finds that person or the person becomes him. I wave as he pulls off and skip back towards my front door. The unlocked door opens easily and I slip into my house. I walk in and meet my parents on the couch, watching TV. They quickly tense up and avoid eye contact with me. I shrug and go to my room. They're so predictable. I hop on my bed, throw off my shoes and shirt. Jasen's shirt. Heh. I lay on my back and stare at the ceiling, as my memory and heart race. The man crumpling to his knees as my bullet goes straight through his head. And the guy who thought I couldn't see him behind me, and flinched back in fear, shaking, when I spun on my heel and shot him dead. My smile was wide killing that guy. It was funny. Or the guy who I shot 10 times before he finally stopped moving. I think he was my favorite kill. Watching the life fade from his eyes had me on a high that I've never felt before, that I always want to be on. It was hypnotizing. Beautiful. I turn into my pillow and laugh. It was so fun. Maybe I'm a little violent but it fits me so good, I can't quit it. I hug my pillow to my chest and grin hard. Richie and Jasen are definitely my buddies. They didn't let me down. Jasen's just like I thought he would be, the catalyst to my perfect storm. I like his vibes. Even though it seems half the time he can't feel, sometimes a deadly aura comes from him. A really cute one, I like him when he's like that. It makes me hot. I chuckle. I found out today I'm stable enough to not kill my teammates. It would suck if I killed Richie or Jasen and never get to kill again. A frown settles on my face. I wonder what they think of me. Do they think I'm just a crazy b***h who has fun hurting people? Or some loner who deserves to be a loner? Or a savage who just happened to meet them? I giggle. It doesn't matter what they think. I'll always be like this and they'll have to accept it, because now I'm hooked. I'm addicted to the adventures they get to go on all the time. It's not fair. Why did they come in my life so late? I've had to deal with normal people for too long. I'm finally with my kind and I'm never letting go. My phone dings and I reach over to the back pocket of my jeans and pull it out. Turning it on, I look at the screen and see a text from Richard. "Its Richie!" I say to myself, smiling wide and quickly opening the notification. Come outside, I'm in front of your house. It says. I just got dropped off. What couldn't he tell me before? Maybe... I hop off my bed, slip on some slippers, and throw on Jason's discarded shirt. Another fight? Already? I pass my parents, waving to them as I skip by, out the door. Outside sits a black G-wagon, and the window scrolls down. Richie motions me to come in the car. I smile, jogging a bit, sliding in his car. I look at him, after surveying his car a little. I find him staring right at me. "What? Do I have something on my face?" I ask. He sighs and shakes his head. "So what do you want? Is there a fight you want me in? Is it just you and I this time? That's fine, more kills for me." I smirk. He shakes his head again. "Then what? Talk." I cross my arms and lean on the window. He looks at my shirt and then up to my eyes. "What's your deal?" He narrows his eyes. "What do you mean?" I smile innocently at him. "I can't figure you out so I came to ask. Why do you like to kill so much?" "It's my idea of entertainment." "What do you want from Jasen?" "Fun." "And that means getting to kill people?" He tilts his head. "Bingo. Do you want a cookie? What's your problem?" I thought we were friends, that's the only reason I tried to save him back at the shootout, but if not... I might as well kill him now. It'd be good practice, close combat. "You're becoming more and more of a distraction for Jasen. He has a lot of guys depending on him, and you clouding his vision isn't helping us." "What are you trying to say? Be direct. Blunt." I deadpan. He nods. "I want you away from Jasen. Its hard enough he doesn't acknowledge his men, we don't need you taking our place. You being around him pisses me off. The more I think about it, it has to be due to the fact that you are some random girl who beat us to being close with him. Wait your turn in line." He avoids my eyes. "What? You don't like me being around him? Then remove me." "Huh?" "Get rid of me, hide me away, f*****g kill me!" My grin grows and grows. He looks taken aback, staring at me. "If you can't do that, there's no way I'm ever letting Jasen go. He's mine. He opened up this new world for me, and I won't let you ruin it." I look at him with apologetic innocent eyes and open the car door. "Cynthia, listen. I just-" He starts. "I know what you're saying and I completely agreed. But if you want me gone, you'll have to rely on something other than words. Something more dangerous, like my style." I smile at him and hop out the car. "Cynthia!" I shut the door behind me. I burst out laughing, stumbling in my steps to my front door, ignoring Richard's pleads. What's he calling me for? He made his opinion clear. He doesn't want me with Jason. Friends really go all out to make you laugh. Another round of laughter rolls in and I can barely breathe. I open the door, stopping to wave at Richie. But now that he's said this, I've never felt such a strong urge to be next to Jasen. I'll stay there forever, right beside him.
