chapter 16

"So you're saying you're a contacted killer?" I ask Isaac. He nods, sitting beside me now. He tried to explain with his arms around me and apparently it was too much him. I was too close. How adorable. I'm really finding him way too cute. Richie has chimed in a few times in the explanation but just to remind Isaac how dangerous the organization is, so he can remind me. Isaac and Richie being a part of a hit-men organization doesn't surprise me. Them being swore to secrete about their employer and work, doesn't surprise me either. What takes me for a loop is how they managed to get in. "You were picked up from prison and Isaac, you were found at a mental hospital and they just took you guys?" I ask, trying to understand again why I wasn't found as well. I think I made a reputation for myself everywhere around here. They've should've included me too. Hmph. "They're not exactly looking for good guys. We were perfect." Richie adds, leaning back into the chair. I nod. "Why aren't you a part of it anymore?" I ask Isaac. He grins, scoffing "I made a big enough name for myself that the organization didn't have to get me clients, the clients came to me on their own." My eyes widen. Doesn't that make him competition for his previous organization? "You're still under the oath you agreed to. They haven't stopped watching you. Since you've shown and told her everything, we're f****d. She knows way too much and they don't know her. We're now seen as agents who can and will spill everything when given a little pressure. They'll probably come tomorrow trying to hunt us down." He exhales another sigh and puts his hand back on his forehead. "Are those guys as good as you two?" I ask, raising my brow. Isaac scoffs. "They're the ones who trained us. I told you to stay away, Aliza." Richie whines. Aw, he's still in his feelings. "So what do we do?" I ask, looking between the both of them. A pause full of silence gnaws on me. "We have to run. If we're a step a head of them, we can get better ground against them." Richie deadpans as Isaac nods. As in away from here? "I'm going too?" I point to myself. Richie rolls his eyes, as Isaac pats my back. "They are definitely coming after you so yes. I wouldn't leave you here" He says. The corners of my lips turn up. It's like a road trip with friends. "Don't you guys have any dirt on them? Since it's so secretive." I ask. I've been wanting to blackmail someone for a while now. "I'll threaten to report one of their biggest client's to slow them down. Then you can talk to them Richard. You're good at that." Isaac hands off to Richie as he shrugs. "We don't know when they'll show up but we have to be ready. For now Aliza, go home and pack. We'll tell you when they show up and the only thing we should have to do is pick you and your stuff up. Are you ok with that?" Richie asks, tilting his head at me. I never really had a life here anyway. I've always wanted to get away some day. "Yeah, it'll be fun." I say, beaming at them. He nods and gets up. "Good, I'll take you home th-" He's cut off. "I'll take her home. You should make some calls so we have places to stay and people we can trust." Isaac stands up as well, gesturing me over to him. I hurry over, turning around to wave Richie goodbye. I flash my teeth at him. Isaac heads to the main door, pulling it open as he stops by his mailbox next to the mansion's door. He holds up the car keys and I nod. That's a risky spot to hide it. "Aren't you scared someone might steal the keys?" I ask, as we split, going to different side of the red car we drove in on. He clicks the door unlocked and we both hop in. "I don't think they've be able to get pass my gate but if they do, they'd make a good addition to our friend in the basement." He smirks at me. It's a win-win situation. "That's horrible, Isaac." I grin at him. I like his horrible a lot. "I've done worst." He turns out of his property, glancing at me. A shiver sparks through me. I giggle. I wanna do worst too. "Are you scared? Of having to leave and run from these guys?" He asks, stopping at a red light. I scoff. "I'm more excited than I should be. If those guys come attack us, I can kill them, right?" I ask, as the light turns green. "I knew you would be. That's why it had to be you. That's why I showed you him." My mind goes back to the image of the dying man in the basement. I didn't even get another stab in. "Why did you show me that guy, knowing you're putting your life up for ending?" I narrow my eyes at him. He slows into a park by the side of the road and turn to me. Is the answer worth parking for? s**t. "I was bored for a really long time. I used to love my work when I had started but the better I got at it, was the more bored I was. Then you caught me off guard, that one day and I guess I wanted to keep you around. You brought back the fun and it was addicting." He stares deep into my eyes, as I blink at him. My heart pounds too hard not to hear. "I'm obsessed with you, Aliza and I want you to know everything about me. I want to share it with you." He leans in closer and my eyes widen. "Even if that means you might be killed?" I whisper. "Isn't that the best part?" My eyes flutter shut as his lips press onto mine.
