Shift in theWorld Pt. 3

He asked, “Are you threatening my kids?” I answered, “No, just you. I know where you live, work, and piss. If I want to find the addresses of everyone you know I can and will. Watch your back.” I texted Uncle Gunner to block the number from calling Camila and to let me know if he ever called again. Gabe called, “So, no mate for you either.” He looked thoroughly well f****d. I said, “No, none of us did. It looks like we had a great time though.” He grinned, “I love me some cherry blossom pound cake. Who knew? Not me. You and Grandma have had the secret to life all these years and never shared.” I threw my head back and laughed. He said, “Holly and Hugo have some new couples to hang out with.” I asked, “Where did Brenton and Caius get off to?” He answered, “They were not on delivery routes. They were sent back to give mom and dad their cake. I’m sure they are either asleep or causing chaos as they do.” I put a hand on his back. He whispered, “Some days, I feel like I’ll never find her.” I encouraged him, “We will find them, brother. You can even spank her for taking so long.” He grinned, “I do like to give a good spanking. I’ll see ya later!” I asked, “Where are you going?” He replied, “Fishing.” I questioned, “With?” He grinned, “Lucifer.” They were quite close and always had been. I watched him walk away. Rusty came and found me. I grinned, “Hey, boy.” I scratched behind his ears. I walked into the castle and found my Grandpa Titus waiting. He handed me some wood and we started carving. We always made little animals. He said, “It’s a hard thing, waiting for you mate. You can picture forever in front of you, she’s just not there.” I agreed, “It can be tough some days.” He asked, “Is there anyone whose name caught your attention?” I knew why he asked. He’d been in love with stories of Grandma Veronica. I admitted, “No.” He nodded to himself. I asked, “Did Grandpa Ragor have a feeling about Grandma Ramilda?” He grinned, “Yes, he’d organized several banquets to meet her. He never told anyone it was with the intent to meet her. He lost a gasket according to your Great Uncle Lief more than once or twice because she’d been sent on a mission. He did finally meet her, but he wasn’t a young man when he did.” I sighed, “I hate that dad feels bad.” He inclined his head, “Yes, I hate that too. I was more than happy that he and Astrid had each other their whole lives.” I grinned, “I do too. I love my parents' story.” I put the bird I’d whittled down. He said, “You have more patience than anyone in this family before you and probably since. Sometimes Aesir asks a lot of us. I know you believe your Grandma Ramilda made changes for you when she died. I do too. I just don’t think it’s what everyone else does.” I asked, “What do you think?” He answered, “I think you had two mates. One who is your true path but will take a while for you to find. I think Aesir didn’t want you to be lonely. Your Grandma Ramilda would’ve preferred you wait for your truth path than go through any sort of heartache. I have to say, I agree.” I pointed out, “Aunt Haley said Grandma Ramilda handpicked her.” He grinned, “Yes, that doesn’t mean whoever it is wasn’t always your true path. Your Grandma was a very firm believer in Aesir and his ways. Any changes she made would’ve avoided heartache for you all. She was a serious romantic at heart.” I nodded, “I remember. I miss her and Grandpa Ragor.” They were technically my great grandparents but I didn’t feel the need to add the name. Grandpa Titus looked sad and I felt his in the bond. He admitted, “I do too.” He looked away and sighed. I asked, “Are you ok?” He looked back, “The weight of the crown is heavy some days. I made decisions prior to having the Crown of King that affected things in this family and still do. I trust my instincts though.” I nodded, “I know. I’m sure whatever it is, it’s for the best.” He sighed, “I hope it is.” I felt the weight and guilt he carried. I put a hand on him, “We’d never judge you for the calls you made based on your instincts. I try not to judge anyone too harshly and see where they are coming from.” He grinned, “You will be a great King one day.” I teased, “Yeah, well I am the Crown Crown Prince now.” He threw his head back and laughed. He said, “That is such a silly title.” I shrugged, “It’s my technical title.” Mostly my friends used it to give me s**t. The majority of people called me the Crown Prince even though it was also my dad’s title for now. He said, “Soon it will be your official title.” I knew my dad was ramping up to take the crown, but soon was a relative term. I knew it would be coming within the next ten years. He sighed, “I know your dad is ready, but I want him to enjoy everything before fully taking the weight of this crown. My dad wanted to give that to me too and your grandma; he just couldn’t.” Grandpa Ragor had gotten sick and wanted to step down. I said, “He lived a good life.” He nodded, “That he did. There are many days I wish I could talk to him again. We had a period where we were at odds. Your Grandma Veronica fixed all that, which is just her way. I still wish we had those years back where things were tense and awkward now that he’s gone.” I asked, “What happened?” He told me, “That’s a story for another day. He made some decisions in grief that hurt me and I couldn't get past it. That’s the short version.” I nodded and hugged him before I headed back to my room. I laid in bed and tossed and turned. Finally I groaned, “f**k it.” I yanked my purple Dragon off the shelf. I muttered, “Thank god Aunt Haley did some charm on you. Otherwise you’d be faded and looking worse for wear.” I tucked the Dragon into me and fell asleep hoping whenever I found my mate she didn’t mind my Dragon comfort stuffed animal. I’d had K, my Dragon, for so long now I couldn't imagine what this room looked like without her in it. HELLO! Welcome to H and K's journey. We got back a bit before they meet in book 7 and we have SO MUCH with this couple. Lots of things coming. I am so excited to start this journey with these two characters. I know a lot of people have been waiting ever so patiently for their story. If you'd like to join my page The Ribbon Novels we discuss a lot and have albums for the books as well as a cast. Happy you're here on our next journey! These were intense! The quesitons of what happened to K and her memories was one I am so excited to share and get you thinking about her family. They were very scared for her safety for reasons they didn't exactly explain. Is her guard ok? Do you think H is going to take Chance's betrayal well? I think no LOL Then for H's chapter we see him really being instrumental in getting some feelings out for their family and Haley. He's showing what a great King he will be one day. As the reader we are sad knowing he just missed K but he's got her scent! Later that comes into play because he remembers it.
