I was over the moon. The distance to my house seemed too short. We arrived before I realized it.
“Do you want to come in?”
Marco shook his head. “I still have things to do at home. Sorry, maybe next week when your mother is at home.”
I pouted, but then I smiled. “Okay, I’ll let my mom know too that you’re my lover now. Who knows she’ll let us marry sooner?”
Marco laughed. “It’ll be great, but even if she said no, it’s okay. I’ll wait for you, Esme.” Then Marco grabbed my waist with a hand, and with another hand, he cupped my cheek. “Have I told you that you’re so beautiful?”
I blushed immediately. “Yes, in the car. Why?”
Marco smiled and kissed my forehead. “I’ll tell you every day how beautiful you are until you believe it.”
