We’d been in my car again. It was so emotional in the cemetery. It’s the first time I asked a woman to accompany me there, to share about my mother. Hearing Esme said that I was a wonderful man, also, her promise in front of my mother’s tomb that she would be my good mate and good Luna for our pack, it’s just…. I didn’t know how to express my feelings. It moved and touched me so much.
A stroke in my arm stopped my wandering mind. “Marco? Mark? Hey, are you okay?”
I glanced at my Esme. She looked concerned. “Yes, I’m okay. It’s just, well, to hear what you said in front of my mother’s tomb; it’s priceless, Esme.”
Emerald bent his head and laid it on my arm. She circled her hand to my waist. “Somehow, at the cemetery, I feel like I’ve said my promise as a wife to you.”
