I hugged Jessica while my tears kept flowing. I had put my best friend in trouble because of myself. Jessica hugged me back and patted my back.
“Em,” Jessica whispered, “I think what I told you before was correct. No way Marco doesn’t like you. You heard him yourself. He told Cherry that he liked you and wanted no other.”
I laughed and cried at the same time. “I don’t think it’s the right time to chat about it.”
Jessica was laughing too. “But the positive side of this, you know for sure his feelings for you.”
I shook my head and then sighed. “No. Marco said before, in front of others, he would treat me as if I’m his. It's only for my protection.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
I thought it would silence Jessica, but I was wrong. Instead, Jessica stared at me with shining eyes.
