Chapter 28 : Cross's Fate

 A few moments later, suddenly someone entered the operating room where Cross currently is, and that person was Rudolf, he came bringing food to Cross, his arrival had made Cross flabbergasted and trembled, because he was afraid of Rudolf's figure there. Then after Rudolf put the food on the table, he immediately took a chair and sat in front of Cross.

 Therefore Cross immediately asked him. "Who are you?"

 "Introduce, my name is Rudolf."

 "You are a former NeoGen scientist who disappeared 17 years ago, and became a fugitive by the police."

 "Yes, you are right boy." Said Rudolf, lighting a cigarette in his mouth.

 "Then why can I be here in your place?" Asked Cross.

 "It's because Ivan had gave you to me."

 "Mister Ivan ?? !!" Cross was startled.

 "Did you forget, when you were in dying condition, you made a deal with Ivan that you would be his loyal servant ... And in return, you would be saved and given great power."

 "What do you mean?? ... AAAKKHH !!! " Cross suddenly felt a pain in his head.

 Then he remembered about the incident at that time, that before dying, Cross was visited by Mr. Ivan who offered him a rescue and power, so that Cross could survive, therefore now Cross's body was modified by Rudolf, so this is where he is now, in a postoperative state with his whole body bandaged.

 "Hmm, looks like you are starting to remember now?" Asked Rudolf.

 "What have you done to my body?" Cross asked, anxiously.

 “I cut your right hand which was badly destroyed, then I replaced it with a mechanical hand which contains a number of weapons including a blaster and a shield. And I plugged the flesh and muscles of the monsters into some of your limbs, so that your bodies could become strong enough to support your new hands. "

 "W- what?"

 "Accept the reality boy ... Now you are a Cyborg, and you must obey every command of your master."

 "Why do I have to do that ?? !!" Cross said angrily, because he didn't accept his current body condition.

 "Don't forget, I saved your life, so you should be nice to me."

 "But I never asked to become a Cyborg and unite with the monster cells in my body !!" It seemed that Cross didn't accept that there should be monster cells fused in his body.

 "It's useless being angry. Now you only have two choices ... You will voluntarily obey me, or I'll put a helmet on your head, which can make you obedient instantly. " Said Rudolf.

 “Wh- what ?? You can do something like that? " Asked Cross.

 "I can do anything boy, so you better not mess with me."

 Then Cross was only silent because he didn't know what else to say, all he could do was lament and accept his present fate, namely to become a Cyborg who had to serve and do all the tasks ordered by his master.

 Therefore, Rudolf smiled after he made Cross understand his situation. Then he immediately got up to go out of the room where Cross was, but before Rudolf opened the door, Cross immediately asked another question.

 "What is the actual relationship between you and Mr. Ivan?"

 Then Rudolf answered. "Hmm ... Our relationship is only a business." And after that Rudolf came out of the room.

 Rudolf left Cross who was lying alone and could only remain silent while lamenting his fate, then suddenly Cross shouted as loud as he could because he was both angry and annoyed, while Rudolf, who was walking in the hallway, only smiled when he heard the screams.

 Then Rudolf entered a very wide and long room, and inside the room were lined with glass tubes as far as the eye could see, the tubes were filled with green water and inside there were also humans who fell asleep wearing oxygen masks in their mouths. The humans in the tube were Rudolf's objects of experimentation, his goal was to combine the human and the monster's powers, so that he could create a strong and large troops of human half-monsters.

 Rudolf walked slowly by using his wooden stick as a support, and he seemed to admire the objects he created so much that he enjoyed every second he walked in the room, from the first door to the very end door.

 Long story short, move back to where Kevin was, namely at Dr. Rengga base. Currently Kevin has arranged his belongings in the private room that has been prepared for him. All items that Kevin brought from home using a bag, are now neatly arranged in that room. At this moment Kevin is sitting while looking at his childhood photo, in that photo Kevin is being hugged by his father and mother.

 Kevin looked at the photo with a serious face, then he kept it carefully in a book. Kevin feels very grateful, because he has always been loved and protected by his parents. But this time it was his turn to protect his parents, especially his mother, from the threat of monster apocalypse.

 Currently, the people inside the base are also carrying out their respective activities. Christa is taking care of and feeding Redbud, while Oliver and Doctor Rengga are working on a project of a weapon made from the fire power of Redbud, even they are also working on armor made from rare iron, so right now they look very busy.

 Then when Kevin went to the practice room, he saw Christa who was wiping her weapons while being accompanied by Redbud. At first Kevin was hesitant to approach Christa and talk to her, but he took courage so that their relationship could be closer. Even though Christa at this time really couldn't be easily spoken with Kevin.

 "Ehmm." Kevin cleared his throat to announce his whereabouts.

 But Christa just turned her head and looked at him with a flat gaze, after which she resumed her activity of wiping weapons while sitting casually.

 "Can I sit here?" Asked Kevin.

 "Does it a sign 'Don't sit down'?"

 "Um, no."

 "Then sit down." Said Christa curtly.

 "O- OK."

 Then, Kevin just paused with an awkward feeling, because he was confused about how to start a conversation with Christa. Kevin looked around for conversation topics, and when Kevin looked at Redbud, he instead got a sharp glare from that red rabbit, who saw Kevin as a threat To his territory. So that made Kevin immediately look away while retreating backwards.

 But apparently, suddenly Christa started a conversation with Kevin, while wiping the morning star on her lap, Christa asked.

 "Are you currently feel sad?"

 "Hah? ... Yes, I guess so. " Kevin replied.

 "Are you sad because you have to disappoint your mother?"

 "Hmm, yeah." 

 "It can't be helped, you are forced to do that ... If I were in your position, I would also feel the same way." Said Christa.

 "Eumm ... Really?"

 "To overcome your anxiety, how about you come hunting with me tonight." Christa invites Kevin.

 "Really??" Kevin still didn't believe this invitation.

 “Of course, what else are you here for? This place is the base for monster hunters, right? ”

 "Ye- yeah ... Okay, I'll come."

 “Oh yeah, then regarding about the big disaster problem that you said, don't you worry ... My father is also gathering information from his informants who work at the NeoGen company. So soon we will surely get clues about the activities that led to that disaster, or maybe we can even find Rudolf's whereabouts soon."
