TESTING HER FAITH IN HIM

Matthew’s P.O.V.

I knew that Alex would not believe what I said. Alex would never believe that John could do any such thing. He had blind faith in John. But he didn’t know about John and Anaira. I knew because I witnessed what happened between them. Anaira made me promise her that I would not tell a thing to Alex as it would destroy his faith in friendship. Alex had a pure heart. He was a good businessman with all skills required to run the whole empire. He knew how to achieve what he wanted professionally by hook or crook.

In terms of relation, he was a pure soul. He trusts his relations. On the other hand, John was totally the opposite of him. He had the most wicked heart, I had ever seen. I tried to figure out his role in Anaira disappearance in the past also but failed. Either he was way too smart, or I was wrong. My brother deserves his love. I really wanted him to be happy.

In past, we got some information about the whereabouts of Anaira. I took the help of one of my friends who worked in a govt. dept. to fetch the information about John's whereabouts at that time.

I was working in my cabin when my phone rang. It was from my friend. “Hey buddy, what’s up”, I answered the phone.

“All good Maths”, he teased me and I rolled my eyes. I hate this nickname and even more hated this subject.

“Yeah.. yeah… whatever”, I answered annoyingly. He laughed hard at my reaction.

“Well… come to the business now”, he got serious. “I checked about his traveling and found out that he frequently used his private jet to visit several places in the past 6 years. I am mailing what I found out. It’s really strange that he visited a place frequently for some months and then never went back there. Look at them by yourself”, he said and then bid his goodbye. I listened to him carefully. Within a minute, I received his mail. I was about to open the mail when I received a call again. I looked at the screen. It was from Alex.

I immediately picked up the call and also gave a print command for the mail I received. “Hey bud… what’s….”, I was cut off by him. “Matthew, I want you to come with me”, he said and I was surprised. It was daytime and what about this hurry. I stood up from my chair and took out the prints and put them in my drawer. I took my wallet while talking to him. He was sounded so worried.

“Tell me where to come, bro. What happened?” I asked him while heading towards the door.

“Come to the parking. I am heading towards my car”, he said and cut the call. It was strange. He had worry and excitement in his voice at the same time.

Alex’s P.O.V.

I got Danny’s coded text for calling him ASAP. I was with John at that time so I didn’t call him. I didn't know why but I really didn't want him to know anything about what was going in my life right now. He was my best friend and I never hid anything from him before. But this time, both my heart and my mind told me to hide everything. I decided to call Danny later as soon as I got the time to talk with him safely. After all, I could pull out my other phone in front of people. He didn’t send me another message; it meant that everything is ok. I was a bit relieved but still anxious to know what he wanted to tell me.

I called him after the morning meeting when I was alone in my office. “Hey Danny”, I greeted him, and then I heard a small voice that stopped my heart for some seconds to work. “daddy”, it was all that made me cry. She called me daddy. O My God… I was so happy to hear only just one word. “Daddy… are you coming”, she asked me again in her little voice that had some worry now when I didn’t respond as my voice got choked. I immediately replied, “of course my princess… I am coming. I will be there in few minutes”. “I am Tina, daddy… I am not a princess. You didn’t know my name?” she asked me in a sad voice and it broke my heart. How could I tell her that I really don’t her name? “I know your name princess. I called you princess because you are my princess”, I said in a happy and loving voice. Happy tears were flowing down from my eyes and I didn’t care. “Daddy…. Please come… mommy is sleeping and I am scared”, she said and I heard her crying. Before I could say anything, Danny took the phone from her and what I heard was telling me that he was trying to comfort her. “Hey baby…. Don’t cry… daddy is coming. You know he loves you very much… ssshhhh…. Don’t cry”, he was comforting her on behalf of me and I was really grateful to him. “Sir”, I heard him and me hmmm. I was so overwhelmed to say anything. “Ma’am has a pendant with your photo. Tina knows you and recognizes you as her father. I am so happy for you, Sir”, he told me and I felt myself on cloud nine. I gave that pendant to Anaira on our first anniversary. She still wore that pendant!!!!!! I knew… I knew that she couldn’t cheat on me.

“I am coming there, Danny. No matter what, I want to be with her”, I said and he didn’t try to stop me. I cut the call. I paced in my room to and fro. I was so excited. My hands were sweating due to my excitement. It happens to me every time when I got excited. I wanted to share this news with someone. But with whom? I stopped at my table and put my hands on the top. I closed my eyes.

“Why don’t you understand his reasons”, Anaira was shouting at me and I was standing in front of her lowering my head. I had a fight with Matthew about something related to John. He accused John of something I didn't know. It made me angry and I punched him hard.

“I don’t know why he behaved like this with John. You know John is innocent”, I said and she shook her head in disappointment. I didn’t know why she did not like John.

“I don’t want to intrigue in your relationship with John but, I want you to trust your brother when the time comes”, she said in disappointment. I held her face in my hands and kissed her forehead. “I will, I promise”, I said and hugged her.

I opened my eyes. I couldn’t trust my decision of choosing whom to trust but could trust her decision. I made up my mind and called Matthew. It’s time to test her faith in him.

I called him and asked him to meet me at the parking. I knew that I am being watched and they could follow me to them.  I didn’t know what to do now. I was so nervous right now to think straight. I decided to trust Anaira’s faith in Matthew.

“Hey bro… what happened”, he asked me while coming towards me. I looked at them and inhaled sharply.

“Matthew… I…. I wanted to tell you something”, I said in a low voice so that no one around could hear us. He raised his brows in suspicion and came near to me.

“Is everything alright”, he asked me in concern.

“I…. I… am being watched from some days”, I stammered a little and his eyes widened in shock. Before he could say anything I cut him off, “I need to reach somewhere urgently and it’s very important. I don’t want them to notice me going out of the building”, I said in frustration.

He looked at me and it looked like he was assessing something. “Let’s go”, he said to me and dragged me somewhere from my arms. I didn’t protest and followed his lead.
