SHE IS SO INNOCENT

Danny’s P.O.V.

I was so overwhelmed to see them so engulfed in Tina. I was shocked first when I saw Mr. Matthew with Alex Sir. My heart was pounding in my chest wishing that his trust in him would be worthy of it. Guess, God listened to my prayer. First Matthew was shocked to see her but when she called him “Uncle Maths” his expression changed from confusion to shock, surprised, and then he was overwhelmed.

He was crying like a loving father engulfing her in his embrace who had met his daughter after long day work. Tina called him her God Father. I was glad that the girl was progressing well. What she has endured in the past, it was heart touching to watch her innocent smiling face. Her smile was so addictive like my daughter’s smile.

He was angry with Alex Sir. He was not allowing him to touch Tina. It was really childish.

“You don’t have any rights to see her. You hid her from me…. Me?????”, Mathew Sir yelled at Alex Sir. Before Alex Sir could say anything, I saw a change of expression on Tina’s face. I immediately stood up from my seat and said to him, “please don’t shout here Sir. She has gone through a lot”. He glared at me but I signaled him to look at her. When he saw tears in her eyes immediately his expressions changes into soft.

“Hey hey princess….. what happened.. huh???”, he said to her while stroking her hair lightly.

“You… you shout on dad”, she said with so much pain that shook us till the core. Immediately, Alex Sir and I went towards them and Matthew Sir rubbed her chin softly. “No.. no… baby….I am not shouting at your dad. I am not shouting. He hid you from me. I am your Godfather na… I am just angry with him… You are my everything princess.. please don’t scared”, he was pleading to her and she looked at him in confusion.

“Bad Uncle hid me. Dad didn’t hide me and mommy. He …. He was… very bad..”, she started crying and we all could feel her pain. “He… He beat mommy… mommy cried… cried…”, she said between her sobbing and Alex Sir suddenly turned back from her. He had way too angry. His was emitting a dangerous aura.

“Calm down Alex. This is not the time. They need us”, Matthew Sir requested him while coaxing Tina.

Alex Sir looked at me and I pleaded with him silently. She was so scared due to everything she had endured in the past. She was just 5 years old. She was too small to understand why all those things happened to her.

Suddenly, it looked like Matthew Sir remembered something. “Where is Anaira?? Where is she?” he asked in a low voice.

Before any of us could answer, Tina spoke, “mommy is sleeping there. Uncle Maths… why is she sleeping from so many days?” Matthew Sir was shocked to hear her but unable to answer her.

He just put her head on his chest and started stroking her hairs again. “What is Alex?” he asked Alex Sir and he shook his head. He again turned towards them and said, “She is in coma, Matthew. Her soul and body are totally shattered. He has broken her soul way beyond amendment, Matthew. I…. I….”. His voice choked due to tears building up in his eyes.

Tina raised her hands again towards Alex Sir and Matthew Sir pouted. “What princess… you are not happy with me”, he was acting like a child who doesn’t want to share his sweets with anyone.

She kissed his cheek and smiled. He was grinning ear to ear. Then, what she said overwhelmed us. “Dad needs to hug Uncle Maths. He is crying”, she is so sensitive but understanding.

“Awe princess…. Daddy is crying??? Let’s give him a group hug… what’s say”, he tried to cheer her mood and she beamed. The scene in front of me made me cry. They were hugging each other and that single touch from Tina and Matthew Sir broke him. He started crying his heart out. Tina was stroking his hairs like a caring mother and Matthew sir too had tears in his eyes.

One thing that I was sure that Matthew Sir never harmed them. Alex Sir’s trust in him was worth it.

Matthew’s P.O.V.

I didn’t know how to stop Alex. He was not crying baby anytime. He was always cheerful and carefree. Even he didn’t cry or show his weakness when Anaira disappeared. I let him cry his heart out. It was good for him. He had to let that fear passed.

“Alex, Tina is watching you buddy… ,” I whispered in his ears. I didn’t know a single thing about what had happened with them and how did Alex find them again. I wanted to see Anaira. What Alex told me about her condition made me anxious.

He pulled away from us and excused him. He went to the bathroom and I took Tina to her bed. The person who was with her before, I came to know he was Danny. He was Alex’s drive Ryan’s cousin. He was with Alex when they rescued Tina. He was with her from the first instance and I was really grateful to him. I wanted to know every detail but not in front of Tina but I didn’t want to leave her now. She needed our love and care. Alex had appointed Danny as her caretaker and I totally agreed with him. The way he was taking care of Tina when we came here, he was perfect for this job.

“Ok princess…. Tell me … do you want to eat something”, I asked her gently while sitting on her bed with her on my lap.

“I want to see mommy, Uncle Maths. She is sleeping till now”, she said to me in a lower voice and I nodded. “Okay princess… let dad come out of the bathroom, then we go to see mommy”, I said to her while stroking her hairs.

“Why you and dad call me princess??” she asked and I shrugged my shoulders. “You are the little princess of our world, princess,” I said to her lovingly and she looked at me in confusion. “But bad uncle said that I am a curse”, she immediately reverted back and I was shocked and way too angry now. It was really difficult for me to mask my feelings and it was really hard in front of her. I put her head in the crook of my neck and said in a loving voice, “he was wrong. He is a cursed princess, you are not”. Whoever the person was, I am gonna kill him whenever I meet him. I vow to her mentally that I would take her revenge no matter what happens.

Alex came out of the bathroom was 15-20 minutes. His eyes were red and puffy. Tina slept in my embrace and I put her down on the bed and tucked her in the blanket.

I looked at Danny and he nodded in understanding. I stood up from my spot and looked at Alex. He was looking at her with so much love in his eyes. Of course, he loved her more than anything in the world. She was his daughter.

“I want to see Anaira”, I said to him in low voice and he nodded. I didn’t want to wake her up. She was sleeping peacefully.

“We are coming back”, Alex said to Danny and he nodded. Then he motioned me to come with him and we both went towards Anaira’s room.

“Anaira… I hope you are not in the state Alex pictured you”, I mentally pleaded to God.
