I don't know what papa did to my mother for putting her hands on Silas and I, but I was thankful that for a blessed 2 weeks I didn't have to see her.
Silas and I fell into a sort of routine:
Meet at breakfast.
Go to school. Silas started to get home schooled with me so I wasn't lonely anymore.
Lunch together, outside sometimes even.
He would go to physical training while I would go to my etiquette classes.
Then we'd get an hour or 2 to play before joining everyone for dinner. Theo and papa ate with us every night and it was so much fun. Theo would cast loving stares at Eliza everytime she'd serve us from the kitchen. Eliza would blush cutely. You could tell that every time they would brush one another's skin there was a jolt between them.
I hoped that a boy would look at me like that one day.
"So how long were you going to keep from me that Eliza is your mate?" my papa asked with a mischievous grin.
Theo looked flustered, "We've been trying to figure out how it would work between us alpha, I meant no disrespect."
Papa patted Theo's shoulder with a grin, "Nonsense! Eliza is free to stay with you! We can promote a different omega for her duties."
Theo glanced at me with a sad smile, "I don't think I could ask Eliza to give up caring for your pup. They are quite close."
Papa looked at me thoughtfully, "Then we will just make Eliza her full time nanny, if she chooses. As for her other duties, Mary can help take a load off and we will get more help for everything else."
When Eliza came back out to refill our drinks, Theo took the pitcher from her and took her hands in his, "My love, the alpha has given us his blessing to honor our bond. If you choose it, you can move in with me."
Eliza looked taken aback and her eyes shone with excitement but then she glanced at me worriedly.
"You are free to become Grace's nanny and give up your other duties," Papa told her softly. Eliza jumped for joy and wrapped her arms around Theo's neck.
Mary came out with some cookies and her eyes bulged when she saw Eliza in Theo's lap.
"Mary, how do you feel about taking Eliza's spot and I will promote a new omega to assist you," Papa asked her grinning.
"Oh I'd be honored," Mary gushed. "You've been so kind to me alpha. I am so thankful." Silas grinned at his Aunt proudly. She ruffled his hair as she handed him a cookie. Then she offered one to me.
Papa nodded, "You have been very good to my family and this pack. As I've said before, I apologize for the Luna's behavior towards you and your family while I was away."
Mary smiled and nodded at Papa again.
When it was time for bed and I was snuggled under my covers, Papa came in to kiss me good night. I had had such a wonderful day!
"Papa, can I spend some time with you tomorrow?" I asked hopefully. Papa sat on my bed and tickled my hands.
"How about we go somewhere as a family tomorrow? Maybe a day trip? Theo and I were going to visit a neighboring pack about some business but we could all go. It would be an adventure!" Papa replied.
I grinned widely. It was rare that I was allowed to travel away from the pack, "Yes Papa! That sounds very fun!" I squealed.
He chuckled and kissed my forehead, "I'll let Theo know so he can prepare."
"Silas is coming too right?" I asked excitedly.
Papa smiled at me with a glint in his eyes, "Well of course! He needs to have some fun too! Now get some rest. We will go on our adventure tomorrow."
--------------
The next morning Eliza helped me pick out a light dress that would be good for playing. She put my hair in a low ponytail rather than my bun so that my dark brown hair flowed down to my hips. I was so excited that I practically skipped down to breakfast with Eliza swinging my hand. Silas was already at the breakfast table, setting out the plates and cups. He smiled eagerly at me when he saw me.
I ran straight to him and excitedly took his hands in mine, "We get to go on an adventure today! Did Papa tell you?"
"Yes!" he laughed, "I got up extra early and got to help my aunt fix breakfast! She packed us a lunch too!"
"Grace!" My mother's cold voice sliced through my joy. "Is that any way for a lady to act? Release Silas' hands at once and take your seat!"
I timidly pulled my hand out of Silas' and sat down, my eyes never looking up. Silas walked into the kitchen quietly. Mother took a seat across from me. I could feel her eyes on me, looking me over no doubt.
"Your hair is not proper. It is going to get so tangled today," she commented with disdain. "We must always look our best, especially when visiting other packs."
"I'm sorry my Luna, I put Gracie's hair in that style. I just thought it would be easier for her to play in," Eliza said quickly.
"Play?" my mother questioned her.
Silas came back out with his aunt and helped serve our breakfast. They were both silent in the presence of my mother. After serving everyone seated, and getting Theo and papa's places set, Silas turned to follow his aunt back in the kitchen.
"Silas, where do you think you're going?" mother snipped. He froze. Mary turned around and whispered something to him before going into the kitchen without him. "Your place is next to my daughter, no exceptions."
Silas silently took his seat beside me.
"Grace, you may not eat until Eliza fixes your hair. Now go," mother ordered. I hesitated slightly, which was a bad idea. "Grace, now!" She growled. I scooted back my chair.
"Good morning!" my papa bellowed as he reached the dining room, Theo at his side. "Gracie, I almost didn't recognize you with that grown up hair do! Twirl for me dear!"
I glanced at my mother nervously before standing and twirling once, my pale pink dress flaring out slightly with my movement. Then I took Eliza's hand and we started to head back to my bedroom.
"Eliza, Grace hasn't even eaten yet, why is she leaving the breakfast table?" Theo asked.
Eliza stopped and glanced at him briefly before looking down, "I need to fix Grace's hair. I made a mistake in letting her hair down."
"Nonsense," papa replied nonchalantly as he kissed my mother's cheek before taking his spot beside her at the head of the table. "We are going on adventure today, it's a fitting hair style."
Eliza widened her eyes at Papa before glancing at my mother.
"Dear, Grace must look her best when we visit other packs," mother told him in her most pleasant voice.
"She is beautiful as she is," papa said as he dug into his food. "I find nothing wrong with how she looks love."
Mother had a dark look flash in her eyes before she quickly recovered, "But dear, her bun is most formal and is classy, she ..."
"She's 9 Sarai, there will be plenty of time for her to look classy. Today she looks like an eager little girl excited for a trip," papa interrupted her, effectively ending the conversation.
Eliza led me back to my seat and I began eating. I couldn't help the small smile that spread on my lips. I loved when my papa was home.
