Joseph Carloz was just like the another government official. Atleast that's what everyone said to Natasha. She knew what they meant because everyone in the town had the same view regarding the government official. Bribe taking scammers. Natasha when took up this case, like to write she knew it was going to be difficult because opinions are always biased and she just cannot rely person to tell her the truth so she decided to talk to everyone who knew him. From his family to the cigarette shop owner who was his friend. It was hard to talk to his family because they were still mourning. She was glad that they didn't have any kind of objection with her writing the story in fact they were so grateful because they wanted justice. They were also tired with all the trips to the local station but got nothing in return. She was very sad for him. She looked at the gun found on the scene. She did some research on the gun in hope of finding something but it was just a common pistol. Not something that is hard to obtain, police even said that it must be his. She had yet to ask the victims family about it. The mysterious gun that was found on that floor. She had yet to look into it detail. It was tiring. The investigation because she was not getting the support from the official and that was the crucial part of the book. Maybe she should mention how she had to do everything alone. She stared at the picture of the gun once again hoping that she'll find something. After few seconds she let out a sigh. It was useless. "Signore" She turned her heard at the sound of the knocks. Elisha was standing there with a worried face. Natasha raised her eyebrows at her. "Is everything fine?" She asked to Elisha. "Si. I was worried when you didn't come got breakfast." She sighed shaking her head. Elisha was always such a mother hen and it was endearing to see that atleast she had someone who looked after and was worried for her. It was nice to have someone like that. "I was working." Natasha said with a smile pointing at her laptop. Elisha nodded skeptic. "Do you want me to bring the breakfast here?" She asked in a soft voice to which Natasha chuckled and shook her head. She didn't like to eat alone in her bed. Her counsellor had told her to be as in the open space as possible. Chat with people and be in airy places. She knew that essentially wasn't the cure but they were the steps that could help her and she wasn't taking chances now. She was serious about this. She was determined to write this story and it would do her good since she hasn't written anything new since months and this was a good thing. It will create enough distractions and divert her from thinking about the things that are hurtful and not stable. "No no. I'll come down. Anyways did Daniel wake you in the morning?" She asked. There's a thing about Daniel. He hates the brand coffees or any type of coffees that aren't homemade. Because of the fact that his coffee beans are actually organic and he gets them imported and he gets cranky without his morning coffee and everyone is aware of that. Daniel's PA is very aware of this fact so he stacks the beans there as well and always prepares them for Daniel. Natasha took care that he always took his coffee before leaving. And it has been a kind of tradition that she would make coffee for him whenever he had meeting outskirts. He always carried coffee with him. "Si. I made his coffee." Elisha nodded her hear furiously. She knew how he gets. And she wasn't very keen to deal with his angry voice on the phone. "Good." She said with a nod. "How's the book coming along?" Elisha asked curious trying to peek at the pages of the script. Natasha eyed her and laughed. She never took that much interest in her books. She always mumbled something along the lines that she doesn't read so she would never understand. "It's good but difficult to compile everything..." Natasha started "Forget I asked." Elisha shrugged "Hey now!" Natasha said in a affronted voice. "Okay I'll heat up your breakfast." Elisha said turning around. "No wait. I think I'll take a walk in the garden for a while before eating. Maybe work up the appetite" Natasha said in a hopeful voice. She knew how Elisha didn't like when Natasha didn't eat. She was always fussing her to eat. She's very much Italian like that. And Natasha loves her for that. "But..." "I'll be back soon." Natasha muttered standing up from her seat. She quickly saved her draft and shut down the laptop. Natasha could swear that she heard Elisha mumble about how no one cared about her food and that bought a smile on her face because everyone loved Elisha's food. She had magic in her hands. Natasha walked downstairs and smiled as she caught the sigh of Elisha in the kitchen heating something. She was a dedicated lady. That one. Pushing open the doors that led her to their lawn Natasha squeaked as the wet grass greeted her feet. She looked at the grass. It was wet. Looks like Elisha watered the plants early today. "Mmhh" Natasha inhaled the fresh smell of dews and the grass. She always felt different aura here and it was the only place where she could walk and think about all the things that she wanted to do in her life. Her weird fantasies are born here. Their house was the biggest on the street. Maybe because of thus attached veranda. It was also the expensive one but she cannot believe that they got it so easily. She walked further into the grass not caring about the wetness. It felt soothing against her skin now. It was not too cold now. She still remembers the first time she had been here. It was not beautiful as it is now. With the swings and these beautiful flowers this looks like her home but years ago it was just a massive land with green grass. The memory of her being here with Daniel for the first time is still very raw in her mind. "You should start from here Signore." The realtor said gesturing with his hands and she wondered if all the Italians had this habit of talking with their hands. She was not making fun but just her observation. Earlier when she met her father in law due observed the same talking patterns and same with her brother in law and Daniel is also the same and it was cute. The whole lot of gestures they do to make their points or talk about something they are passionate about. It was fascinating to watch. "This is huge" Daniel noted turning towards her. She nodded her head. They had already seen three houses on the same street and this one had the biggest garden she had ever seen. "Yeah. But it's so different." Natasha said in a awed voice and turned towards him. He gave her a look. They looked exactly the same as the last one but he wasn't going to argue with her on this one. "You can put swing over here and it's the best place to barbecue. You know like put..." The realtor was gesturing something with the hands pointing at the corner and then towards the huge tree but she had already tuned him out. She knew that she had to listen to him but she was too busy looking at the tall bungalow standing on the ground. It had instantly caught her eye. It was so beautiful and as if calling her name. She couldn't believe it that she was so focused on the garden that she didn't fully appreciate the art of the house. She turned around to find Daniel and that realtor who for so many reasons reminded her of Phil Dunphy from modern Family. But she didn't tell him that maybe she can tell Daniel later and they can laugh about it. She walked inside the house and gasped looking at the huge living hall and the adjoining rooms. She didn't know why but she had the feeling that this was it. She always wanted to live in a huge house with Victorian style decor which would make her feel like a princess. She could finally make that bring to life. She climbed the stairs and noticed that the stairs did not creak and they were solid under her feet. She looked around the floor and then eyed the last set of stairs that led to the top most floor. After she checked the gallery floor she decided to look down to see if she can spot her husband. They were both still talking. She hurriedly rushed out side to tell Daniel that she liked it and maybe they should purchase it. "Hey" She greeted and they both snapped their heads to her. "Can you please excuse us?" She apologetically said and pulled Daniel aside. "What?" He asked her in a confused voice. They were discussing something important. It was about which place has the best steak but she didn't need to know that. She already yells at him for his steak choice. "I like this. Let's buy this." She earnestly said. "Are you sure?" He asked because she can be real picky at times and he really didn't want to cancel the booking again. "You'll love it too Daniel. Just see the house. Its so huge and this huge garden. We can actually install a swing here and...." She excitedly said in one breath. Daniel rubbed her shoulders and smiled. "Okay we'll buy it" He said not even giving a glance to the house. She widened her eyes. She thought that he would argue because this was way too expensive and out of their budget but he did not even refuse it. "But..." She started. "No buts. You like it we are buying it." He responded. "Greg?" He called out. "We are buying this house. I will pay the highest offer." He said and Natasha stared at him with mouth agape, mirroring the expression of that realtor. She sadly smiled at the memory. Daniel had actually bid the highest and let her design the house as she wanted. He did not even care because she liked it on the first glance and she knew how ridiculous that was but she didn't stop him. It was all fair. Where was that Daniel? The guy that didn't even question her? That did all those romantic gestures for her. She sighed. ***
