Chapter 4 - The Mystery Boss

1342 Words
No no nooooo! I f****d my new boss! Why the hell didn’t he tell me his name? I could have avoided this mess. He steps towards me with his hand outstretched and a smile spreads across his lips. “Hi, I’m Carter Wilson.” All I can imagine are those fingers inside me as I shake his hand. I clear my throat loudly. “Isabelle Hudson.” I say in a small voice. I can’t form any other words. Ricardo beams and walks into his office. I sit in my chair to organise my desk, ignoring Carter. He walks into his office behind me and I can feel his eyes burning into the back of my skull. My desk phone rings, frightening me and I see Carter’s name on the screen. I consider ignoring it but I remember he is my boss. “Yes Mr Wilson?” I answer politely. “It’s Mystery Man to you. Can I see you in my office please?” Tingles dance over my skin hearing his husky voice in my ear. I glance at him over my shoulder. “I can’t call you that here!” I whisper shout. I hang up the phone and walk into his office, closing the glass door behind me. “Have a seat Miss Hudson.” He smiles again and gestures to the arm chair opposite him. I don't sit down. “Did you know?” I demand. “Did I know what?” A confused look twisting his handsome features. I slam my hand on the table. “Did you know who I was before you slept with me?” “Are you serious right now? How could I have known? We never exchanged names and I didn’t know my new assistants name until 5 minutes ago. This situation is even better though, now I get to see you every day.” He doesn’t see the seriousness of the situation. He thinks this is all a joke. “I can’t sleep with the boss!” I say angrily. “I am the boss.” He says simply. Frustrated, I run my nails over my scalp and pull slightly. “Ugh, I can’t do this. As much as it pains me to say this, but I quit.” I move to leave his office. “Sit. Down. Now.” He’s no longer joking around, I hear it in his tone. I sit in the chair across from him. “I will not accept your resignation. Yes, I’m your boss. Yes, we had an amazing night together. At the end of the day, we are both here to do a job. If you want things to remain professional, I’ll respect your wishes. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, you let me know. And if you want to continue where we left off yesterday, I am also good with that too.” I’m silent for a few moments. “Can I think about this?” I say in a small voice, avoiding his gaze. “Of course, take all the time you need.” “I appreciate that. Now, tell me about your company and what you expect from me as your assistant.” * * * “Mr Wilson, I’m stepping out for lunch if that’s alright?” I poke my head in his office before I leave. “Sure, here’s a credit card for you to use for office expenses plus my lunch order.” He pushes the items towards me without taking his eyes off his laptop. I pick the items up off his desk and head to the elevator. I open his note and even his handwriting is sexy. Is there anything this man isn’t good at? - Iced coffee - Sandwich, surprise me - You I roll my eyes. Totally inappropriate. I texted Scarlett earlier to meet me for lunch. I need to vent about Carter. Scarlett is a high school teacher and she’s currently on holidays so she said she could meet me. I walk into the cafe downstairs, she’s already seated and waving me over. I order my lunch plus Carter’s take away order then sit across from Scarlett with my shoulders slumped. “Hey! How’s your first day going?” She asks curiously. “Terrible. I found out mystery mans name.” I groan. “Oooooh! Tell me everything!” She’s so excited and I’m about to burst her bubble. “His name is Carter Wilson. The co-owner of Quinn and Wilson. My new boss.” “Oh fuck..” She is as shocked as I was. I point at her, “That was my exact reaction.” “You f****d your new boss?! What are you going to do? Did he say anything about it?” She blurts out. I explain my conversation with Carter. “Even his name is sexy. God, I don’t know if I’d want to be in your shoes right now. I’d be tempted to jump my boss every day.” She sighs. “You think that’s bad, look at his lunch order.” I slide the note over to her. She reads it and giggles. “I bet he’d love to have you under his desk on your knees!” She says, still giggling as she passes the note back. “Shut up.” I smack her hand. I feel like pulling my hair out. “Well you have to do what is best for you. Besides you hardly even know him; he might end up being a total asshole.” She tries to reason with me. “Ugh it’s going to be so hard walking into his office every day when all I can see is his d**k staring at me.” We both burst out laughing. I really needed this chat to get me through the rest of the day. * * * I waltz into Carter’s office to deliver his lunch when I see another attractive man lying on the lounge throwing a tennis ball into the air. “Isabelle, this is Adrian Quinn.” Carter announces. I place his lunch on his desk. He studies me for a moment. “Ahh your new assistant. She’s hot, no wonder you banged her.” Adrian says casually as he continues to throw the ball. “You told him?!” I ask in disbelief. How dare he tell anyone at this company about us! Carter shrugs nonchalantly as Adrian says, “I’m his best friend, I already knew who you were as soon as I saw you.” “Can I speak to you privately for a moment?” I glare at Carter. “Anything you need to say can be said in front of Adrian.” He waves me off. I slam his lunch order note on his desk and slide it over to him. “You can’t write things like this to me. It’s inappropriate and if you continue to be disrespectful, I’ll file a s****l harassment complaint against you.” I threaten. Carter leans back in his chair amused, crossing his arms across his muscular chest. “I like her, she’s feisty.” Adrian chimes in from the other side of the room. “Are you threatening me?” He asks in a flat tone. I throw my arms in the air. “Are you even listening to me?” “Of course I am. I’d rather jump out of this window than watch you leave this office because of me.” His gaze flicks over to Adrian, then back to meet my eyes. My anger disappears suddenly. There is something hot about a man that’s not afraid to speak his mind in front of others. That’s probably what makes him so successful. I clear my throat. “Okay then.” I spin on my heel to return to my desk. I know Carter is staring at my ass. “Don’t leave on my account. This has been rather entertaining.” Adrian laughs as he disappears back into his office next to Carter’s.
