Roger I"ve exhausted all my contacts on the cruise ship, with no luck. The captain and cruise director had nothing new to tell me; they just promised that if anything changed, I"d be the first to know. A thick cloud of dread hangs over Abby and me. We try to ignore it by playing cards, watching TV, and doing her breathing treatments—but deep down we both know the truth: I can"t keep her cooped up in here forever. It"s too dark and stuffy, without sunlight or fresh air; if we stay inside much longer, we"ll both lose our minds. The crew members don"t look too good either—their once-smiling faces are now strained with worry as rumors about running out of food and supplies start to circulate throughout the passengers.
