chapter eleven

"It won't be okay mom, Raul left me! He doesn't want me Mom, my mate doesn't want me." I felt tears cloud my vision

"Hey don't cry okay listen to mommy. Your mate will come back don't worry. Your friend Marie had told me about how you both met. Maybe he was just scared and thought that you were one or those people who wanted to hurt him. Once he realises that you are his mate he will come running back to you."

"You promise mommy?"

"Yes sweetheart I promise. Don't be sad okay. He will come back for you sooner than you think." She nudged me to get up again whilst licking my fur and this time I got up feeling a little refreshed.

If mom said that Raul was going to come back then it meant he was going to come back to me.

I let out a bark wiggling my tail at her as she did the same and soon I was running into the woods and she was chasing after me.

We played around like we used to when I was little. I rolled over in the mud while she tried so hard to make me stop. And once I did she led me to the stream where I washed off.

It was only the two of us my family didn't join in and I wondered why.

"I love you mom." I said as we started heading back home

"And I love you too my little Angel." She responded. Once we reached the house, we found dad and Kaden outside waiting for us.

I shifted back into my human form behind a tree, wore a shirt that was hidden in the tree trunk then ran off hugging dad who hugged me back tightly kissing my forehead.

"I am so glad you are okay my little Angel." He said and I smiled enjoying his warmth until I felt extremely light head and everything else turned black

[ Hugo pov ]

It's been two weeks since I started living with the kids. We were currently living in an abandoned pack house I saw earlier that night.

It wasn't that good but after we moved in, the kids and I did a little cleaning up and it sorta looks livable enough.

There were plenty of rooms with beds and everything though most of the beds were damaged but most of them were good enough to sleep on.

I was now the leader of our little pack called blood claws pack. Anelesse and the kids came up with the name and appointed me as their alpha since they knew I had alpha blood in me.

The kids have warmed up to me and little Angel was no longer looking weak. Anelesse had figured out a way for her to eat and everything was going perfectly well.

These past two weeks, Raul has been teaching me how to control lightening and forming a shield that was preventing other rogues and pack people from attacking our pack.

I was currently sitting on one of the fallen tree branch outside the pack house watching Anelesse and the kids run around happily playing with each other near a small stream.

The atmosphere was quiet comfortable and sunny. I was happy the kids were happy until--

"Go back home and challenge your father for the throne of alpha." Raul said in my head.

"What?" I asked in shock

"You heard me now go."

"But I--" there was no way I could kill an alpha. I have never trained before, he would literally finish me off in just one move.

"Go hugo." Raul growled and I sighed getting up.

" I am going to shadows pack. My former pack." I said it loud enough so the kids can hear me since I was sitting a small distance away. Giving them privacy incase they wanted to swim but also watching out for incoming danger.

"What?" Anelesse the mommy of our small pack asked looking at me with fear evident on her face as she picked up little Angel and came close to me.

The kids were all labelled as rogues the moment they ran away from the pack so going near a pack meant death. Since packs in this area never tolerated rogues.

"That is your former pack." Mia said looking scared

"I am going to challenge the alpha." I didn't say it with confidence I myself was scared I might get killed.

Last time I only survived because of my mystery girl who I can't seem to get out of my mind especially since Raul showed me in his memories on how we first kissed.

Let's just say I was beginning to fall in love with her and I was going to stop at nothing until I gother back even if she was in love with someone else, I was going to fight for her.

"No Hugo, he will kill you." Anelesse said trying to talk me out of it.

"Hugo time is running out go." Raul growled impatiently.

" I don't have another choice." I said as I started walking away. My former pack was just near the pack we were living at it would probably just an hour walk.

"I am coming with you." Anelesse said determined

"What are you crazy? What if things don't work out I don't want you to get killed." I said to her.

"Well I won't just sit here and do nothing. It's because of you that we have a good life now. We will go were ever you go. If you die we die to cause there is no way we are going to survive unless you are here with us." she said and Mia agreed by nodding her head.

"no Anelesse ple--" before I could finish Raul popped in.

" Let them come, we won't come back here." He said taking over my body leading the way. I didn't even try to protest.

If we die, he is the one to blame. Anelesse and the kids followed too until after walking for an hour we finally reached the borders. The kids were all exhausted especially Anelesse who had been carrying angel in her arms since the latter was too young to walk on her own.

The patrol guys were giving us murderous looks I almost flinched but with the help of Raul giving me confidence I stood my ground.

Anne and the kids hid behind me stay as quest as possible

"Oh look if it isn't the rejected son who ran away tell me how did you even survive?" Beta Adrian dad's beta who was just as evil as dad said glaring at me.

" non of your business beta I am here to see alpha Ventrigo." I said more like Raul said. I was only a spectator in my own body.

the patrol guys burst into laughter as the looked at me like I just grew two heads.

" did you come here with a death wish kid? Leave from here before we kill you and those little kids." Beta Adrian said in a dismissive tone.

" Call your alpha right this instant I am challenging him to a duo. This is my pack and I want it back." Raul growled while I wonder what he was up to. Was he trying to get us killed.

Beta Adrian was about to start laughing again when thunder struck silencing him instantly.

He looked so scared almost like he would piss his pants. If he wasn't my friend Lucas' father, I bet Raul would have killed him in an instant.

Lucas was the only one in the whole pack who never bullied me. He would sometimes help me with my chores and steal some food for me though it wasn't always since he was afraid they might find him and punish him.
