Chapter 7When Geoffrey woke, he and Ralf were a tangle of arms and legs, as if each man had feared losing the other. But they hadn’t, they were still together, and Geoffrey offered a silent prayer of thanks. The question now was how to keep Ralf safe while Geoffrey continued with his investigation. Sending Ralf away would be met with resistance even if Geoffrey could bear to do it. Nor could they admit Ralf’s true identity—word would travel back to the church, and Geoffrey didn’t know friend from foe there.
