CHAPTER TWELVE

1669 Words
Bellia’s Point Of View The dismissal was early today due to the fact that there is a debate being prepared for tomorrow at another school to be held. I don’t mind ‘em, I have no interest in things like that, if others are upset because of the ones they admire, I am not and never will be. I thought I’d hang out at De Vio first because I rarely hang out here. It was only 4 o’clock in the afternoon, and there were so many students here. Most were holding books, eating street foods, laughing, and some were playing guitar in a corner. It is grassy here in De Vio, as it is the largest plaza in our area, only a few kilometers away from our school so others can’t really avoid not hanging out here for a few minutes or hours. I caressed the bench I was sitting on, it was made of wood and I was the only one sitting on it. I’ll admit that I don’t interact too much or make friends with others because what I said back then was that I only needed one friend, and that was Gabriel. I am not yet at the point of regretting everything he has done and I will put up with him after what he has done. I just sigh every time I remember what he told me inside the clinic earlier. He was so sincere, he really was. But I just can’t forgive him so easily, his reason isn’t enough for me to forgive him just like that. He had to prove that the decision he made wasn’t really good, which I felt was wrong. I sighed again and looked up as I leaned myself against the support on my back. I closed both my eyes as the breeze cooled and matched my turning emotions. When I opened my two eyes I saw Logan, so I quickly adjusted myself and then sat down properly. He walked to my side and then pointed to my vacancy next to me, I nodded and then he sat there. He adjusted his shoulder bag and then placed it on his side. “Hey, how are you, Lia? I heard someone say that you got wounded?” he said and then looked at my bandaged hand, “Oh, holy crap. What just happened? Does it hurt? Wha—? Seriously, Logan? Of course, it does hurt!” I laughed at what he said because he preached to himself. He looked at me as he held my hand with a bandage. “So, does it still hurt?” He asked. I shook my head two times and smiled, “I can’t say it still hurts because you already hold it,” I said as I laughed at him. “No. But, seriously, I’m alright.” He looked at me and removed the grip on my hand, “Okay? Sabi mo ‘yan, ah? Keep safe, Lia. Oh, by the way, you want ice cream? A cup of ice cream, I mean. My treat.” He offered as he stood up and laid his hand in front of me. I nodded and then accepted her hand. I did not hold my hand in her palm, I immediately removed it and then adjusted the back of my knee-length skirt. I followed him on foot towards the ice cream vendor. I noticed he took his wallet out of his pocket and then took a hundred, he looked at me from behind him before he put his wallet back in his pocket. He stopped opposite the store and then looked at the available flavors of ice creams. He looked at me and then pointed to it. “What about you, Lia?” aniya. “Kahit ano na lang. I mean, basta chocolate flavoured.” I said as I pointed at the cartolina. Tumango siya at saka ngumiti, “Alright, then.” aniya. “Miss, can I have one cup of chocolate chryst and one cup of orange custard, please?” he said to the saleswoman. I saw the woman nod and then quickly opened the black refrigerator. When he closed it he was already holding two different flavored ice creams. He handed it to Logan and then took the payment that had reached him. He took two ice creams and then gave the woman a smile. “Keep the change, miss.” He turned to me and then handed me the chocolate flavored ice cream, “Here you go, let’s go to the bench, let's eat there.” He said and then waited for me to walk. I walked over to the bench we were sitting on earlier and then grinned, “Thank you.” I ejaculated and then removed the lid of the ice cream cup. He sat me down on the bench first and nodded as he sipped a spoonful of ice cream, “Yeah. Maliit pa ‘yan na bagay, Lia.” aniya at tumawa pa. I started eating ice cream while watching how the guitar on my side played, it was great and it looked like it fit our school band. But I’m not sure if Andreada’s band is still alive, I mean if there are still members. I turned to myself when he coughed, “Can you handle the cold?” I asked him. He laughed as he wiped his mouth. “I mean it, you just seem interested in that guy who’s carrying guitar.” I frowned and then shook, “No-uh. I’m just amazed, come to think of it, it is really hard to learn how to play a guitar, agree? Back then, I was trying to learn how to play a guitar, but I lost my interests on it, I lose my focus.” I said. He shrugged and placed his cup of ice cream on his leg. “I bet you can still learn how to play a guitar, then.” I shuddered and inadvertently suppressed my laughter. “No. I don’t think so.” “Bakit hindi mo pala kasama ‘yong kaibigan mo? Is he busy?” he suddenly asked. I shrugged, “Nope. Ang sabi ko sa kanya mauna na ako, and also I don’t want to see his face for now. I want space, time, and fresh air right now.” I adduced as I took a deep breath. “Okay. I should not have mentioned him. So, can you come with me? In our house,” alok niya sa akin. I frowned and then managed to smile. “Huh? Now? I… I can’t. Maybe, next day? We’ve spoken that, right? Tomorrow’s evening. I already set my reminder, though.” Tumawa siya sa hindi ko alam na dahilan. “You’re funny, you have that sense of humor, huh.” Kumunot ang noo ko at napatawa sa kanyang way na pagtawa, “I can’t help but to laugh at the way you laugh, Logan.” I said. I let go of the ice cream I was holding and we both stared at it, we stared at it for a few seconds and then laughed at the same time. I even get slapped on my leg every time his laughter gets louder. We no longer ignored the students looking at the two of us. My tears almost rolled down my cheeks at the ridiculousness for a very superficial reason. He rubbed his cheek that was already red with laughter. “You’re insane, Lia. You got me there. I thought you’re that type of girl who doesn’t know how to laugh, but you just proved to me that I have to choose not to judge people.” I did not release a word from my mouth at what he said. I wondered if I was just judging Gabriel for the decision he allegedly made for me. But still, the anger I felt earlier, whenever I remember him, the anger returns to my heart. “Hey, are you okay, Lia?” He asked. I nodded as I wiped the mess on my shoes. “Yes, I’m okay. Salamat pala sa libre mo, ah? Sa susunod ulit.” I joked with him while cleaning my shoes. “Well, of course. Maybe tomorrow again, what do you want? A barangay or a place? My treat.” aniya. Nginisian ko siya, “You’re funny, huh.” I only ejaculated when I finished cleaning my shoes. “Hey, hatid na kita sa dorm mo mamaya?” alok niya sa akin. I nodded as I adjusted my seat. “Yes. Of course, sa fourth floor pa ako— 104th room, layo, ‘di ba?” Umiling siya. “Nah. Sakto lang. Bukas pala, you’re not allowed to come? I’ll just introduce you to my friends there,” he said and then took his bag. I shook my head quickly and then looked to my side. “I guess they will not allow me to come, too. You know, hindi naman contestant, e.” Tumawa siya at muling tumango. “Yeah, may punto ka naman. So, maybe next time?” I forced myself to nod, “I do think so. Sige, sa susunod, ako naman ang maglilibre sa ‘yo, asahan mo ‘yon.” I uttered. He stood up and then laid his hand in front of me, “Come on, let’s make friends with the guitarists, you are obviously interested in them, shall we?” He asked me nicely. A smile appeared on my face and then I just nodded, I accepted his hand and then we went straight to the place of the guitarists.
