The Other Truth

Tasha’s P.O.V “Wait! There is definitely some misunderstanding here. I don’t know you. My parents are in India not here. And definitely not in Salvos kingdom; I have heard of it for the first time. You... You cannot be my father. How can that be even possible? I might resemble your daughter, but you are mistaken and I am sorry but I need to go now.”  I started walking backwards and turned to make a dash. “Tasha! You cannot go like that.” his voice boomed. I slowly turned to see his thin-lined lips as I glared at him. “How do you know my name? And what does that even mean ‘cannot go like that’?” I was now worried. “Like I said, I am your father and it was me who named you so I would be well versed with it. You have come after 24 years so now I want you to stay. You can’t leave this place unless and until I would permit you to.” He spoke sternly. “You are not making any sense. You could be a conman pretending to be my father and maybe trick me to—“ he cut me off. “Listen! my child. I know it’s hard for you to understand it but I can definitely show you that I am your father.” He said smiling and he took my hands in his. -‘What does that mean? Does he have DNA test or something?’-    His hands were so cold and slender yet it felt reassuring. I mean... my heart already believed him as I saw his confident smile. I could feel an attraction towards him from my body as if commanding me to follow him, be submissive to him. He closed his eyes and a mist started forming from the ground, rising and surrounding us. He then opened his eyes as the smile started to disappear and the emerald eyes turned black. The mist which was thick like smog started changing into that of a forest scenario. Now there were numerous trees surrounding us as I felt the cold breeze around my body making me wrap my arms around myself. I looked around to find someone as I heard cracking of twigs and I followed that sound. I came to the end of the forest; a couple stood some few feet away from me. They were talking to someone as I went closer to see who they were. I could hear everything now. The man was thin and tall with brown skin and a mustache and the woman was pretty and white with a thin figure. I gasped as I realized they were my parents. “Mum... Dad...!” I called them but it seemed like they didn’t hear me. I rapidly looked to my side and saw Vincent standing there, holding a child’s hand as he asked them to take her best care and keep her protected. The child that was hardly one year old was playing with her feet kicking away stones, twigs and bent down to pick up a leaf from the ground making Vincent leaned a little. I tried to look at her face and she suddenly looked up as though sensing my appearance. The chubby cheeks and brown eyes and... My breath stopped as the scene dissolved making me feel light headed. I felt someone grasp my hand tightly as I looked at the man in front of me with a sad smile. “That child... That child was indeed me.” I whispered lowly. “Like, I said my child.” He still had a little hurt and worried look on his face. I was still holding his hand tightly with both hands and shook my head rapidly negating the fact. “But nobody ever told me that and why I didn’t see you if that is true? You just abandoned me to live lavishly? Now when I am all grown up and good you want me to come back to you!” I seethed at him as I pulled my hands away from his grasp. He came forward as to grab my shoulder but I stepped back creating distance. His face showing hurt. “There are reasons Tasha. There was a reason why you were supposed to live away from me. Your parents don’t remember anything as you might have not noticed but they were under hypnotism. They believe you are their own child and so does others.” He said with melancholy. “How can that be possible? There are others too who might have known that I wasn’t their child.” I looked at him baffled. He wasn’t talking sense and yet I felt so hurt and sad. All your life you have lived under someone who have been there in your good and bad and raising a girl isn’t a small thing and then you realize that they weren’t your real parents but foster. It’s not like it would change anything between us but now when your real dad comes into picture how are you gonna adjust that? “Tasha... My daughter! You must remember one thing. There are so many things that you can’t even believe but yet they exists. Things like power, magic, fairies, foes, pixies and many other supernatural things do exists along with human and it was with the help of magic that everyone were made to believe that you were born to them. I know that might be too much for you to believe but it is nothing but the truth.” He now sat beside me, pulling me into side hug as I cried. I was upset. If he truly loves me where he was all these times? Why he never came to see me and ask me how was I doing? Why he never took time for me? “Do you know? I never left you. How could I have? You are my only daughter. Even though you weren’t born to me, but I saved you. You reminded me of my own daughter and I promised to myself that I cannot lose my other daughter now. There were complications and to keep you safe and sound, I had to give you away.” He continued caressing my knuckles with his thumb and finger as I tried to wipe my tears away. “I was always beside you. You weren’t able to see me but I was there.” He said looking into my eyes. I pushed him a little and moved away from him. “Liar! You are lying. You were never there. You don’t even know what I had been through. If you would have had the slightest idea, you wouldn’t have been hiding then. You are a clear Liar!” I put my face in my lap and cried hysterically remembering everything I went through in the past years.    I felt arms sneaking around my shoulders as the attraction seemed stronger and I didn’t fight him off then. He sat closer and rubbed my back. “I know everything my child. I know all those nights when you cried yourself to sleep. I know all those days when you grew stronger into the amazing woman now sitting here with me.” I turned to look at him as he gave me a small smile and caress my hair while wiping my tears away. He rested his palm on my cheek and continued, “You were almost dead, seven times to be precise. Two times drowning, one time with suffocation, one time falling off from the terrace, once when attacked by a bull and then with an accident and once with pain but you always survived. How? Do you remember?” I was stunned as I shook my head. “That’s because of me. I was always around making sure you were protected. I saved you and made people forget. I was careful not to leave any trace behind because that again would have threatened your existence.” He stared in the space ahead. “But how can you do that?” I asked him now with grave expression. -‘If he can teach me magic, I would love that.’- “I hoped that this doesn’t come up so soon. I want you to adjust and accept me first.” He said hesitantly. “No, but I want to know everything. It will help me accept you then.” I refuted. -‘Common it’s about me living here so I have to know everything.’- “In that case... Don’t be scared.” He said amusingly as I frowned hearing his words. “Why would I be?” I whispered trying to figure out what could be scary about this man sitting right beside me. He was handsome, hot and sexy and all I could feel was attraction. -‘You are effed up girl. He is your father.’- -‘Yea but not like biological or even legally.’- -‘You don’t know about that yet.’- Shut up! Focusssss.... Vincent laughed as though he could hear my thoughts and came closer to my ears whispering seductively. As ridiculous as it was sounding, it really was doing its magic. “I am a vampire... That’s why honey.” With that he slowly moved his face towards me and was real close as my mind processed what he said. ‘I am a vampire...’ “Whaaatttttttt?” I moved my head back a little and stared into his eyes. The closeness and the revelation created an intense moment. I could see a smirk playing on his lips and I couldn’t hold it back as I burst into laughter. He was taken aback by my behaviour as I laughed throwing my head back and keeping a hand over my stomach. The other hand pushing him away as I gestured that it was the best one making him frustrated. “You... You are a... vam... vampire. Hahaha... That was a good one.” I tried to be serious but failed. “What’s so funny about it? Can’t you put two and two together? Just wait.” He snapped his fingers as the surrounding changed and I saw myself sitting into high chair beside him and the area seemed living room. Everything about the room was royalty. Decor from Eighteenth century and going with maroon and black theme with golden like real golden linings. “Look around you, look at the costumes, my language, my powers... Why do you think I am so hooked up on the tradition? Because I am not 40 year old young lady but I am 619 years old. I have served in the Hundred Years wars. I was returning back from one of those battles when I was stopped by a man with handsome features. It was midnight and he seemed lonely. Thinking he might need my help with the war going on, I got down from the horse and approached him but it turned out differently. He groped me and abused me to fulfill his desires in the night’s darkness. The man had the strength of steel and wouldn’t even budge under my constant kicks and fight. He made me his lust object as he bit me while finding his release. He kept repeating that he loved me and had waited for me for years and those words brought disgust to me as I cried inwardly thinking of my family. He turned me into a vampire so he could use my body as he pleased and threatened me to use my family against me if I defy his orders. I was terrified being helpless and agreed to become his s*x toy until that night when he killed my only daughter and wife after r****g her.” He snapped his head towards me and was furious. “Do you think I would joke about something like that? I lost my family. I used to hide and see my wife and my new born daughter. How I wished to cradle her but couldn’t because I might have attacked them. I was holding my dead wife and child and sobbed whole night and couldn’t even fight for them. I was unable to protect them. I was a coward. But guess what? I wasn’t anymore. That day I decided to avenge their death and with the wrath in me, I killed the only man responsible for this. I realized I should have done that long before.” He looked torn. I gulped the unshed tears as I could feel the pain from his voice. “I didn’t stop there and kept punishing them who forced themselves upon weak. I became ruthless. I rose to great powers and finally decided to create a council. Me and other eleven man who were stronger in their communities joined together to form the vampire council drawing up laws and making sure to keep a check on the uncontrolled population of vampire. We had signed pact with the humans’ keeper not to attack them and in return they let us live on their land creating a harmony.” “There are rules to brand any new born vampire to stop them becoming into feral and those who are un-branded would be decapitated. This way, we are always well informed of all the vampire communities flourishing anywhere in the world. They worship me, respect me and that’s why I am called the Dark Master.” He had that chilling look in his eyes. His eyes turned pitch black. “I am sorry. I wasn’t laughing at that. It was just that...” I was nervous but he cut me off as he came towards me in the speed of a light and bent his head over the crook of my neck, inhaling deeply. “You smell so exquisite delicious...”His breathe fanning as my eyes closed and my head fall to the other side giving him excess to my neck. “As much as I want to do things to you but I won’t. Don’t worry though; it won’t be i****t between us. It’s just that I have taken you as my own daughter and I don’t want to devour her at any cost.” He said moving back. I breathed in relief and felt embarrassed. I mean it was so ridiculous getting that attraction towards him. ‘He is your dad, get that right.’ Clearing my throat I nodded. “But I still wanna go dad, there are work that I want to attend to. I promise to visit you often.” I was hoping he would agree. “Okay!” I yelped in joy as I smiled at him. “Only, if you can find your way back.” He grinned widely and disappeared in thin air. -‘What the hell?’- I started to find the door as I realized it was not a mansion but a castle. It was a freaking castle. It took me hours but I seemed to be circling at one place. All I could see was thickly carpeted rooms or stairs and nothing else. I felt tired as I sat down when I heard a commotion. I slowly made my way towards it and could hear my dad speak.’ “Finally you guessed it right but I am sorry she won’t be coming back now.” “What do you mean? She has to. I am here to take her back.” That’s when I realized it was Edward. “Ed... where are you?” I yelled. “Tay... Tay where are you? I am here to get you.” Edward answered back. The voice sounded hollow. “You better step back Edward before you regret it. She won’t go.” Vincent growled like an animal. I kept running towards the voices but it still seemed far. I was desperate and closed my eyes as I pictured to see Edward fighting with dad. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I realized I missed him. Suddenly, I felt someone hugging me as I shot my eyes open seeing a furious Vincent standing ahead of me. I turned to look at the person who was hugging me. Edward gave me a relieved smile as he turned to look back at Vincent. “Now, I will protect her like I promised. You need not worry.” He spoke in a serious tone. Vincent looked angry and hurt as I felt bad for him. Knowing he had always looked after me yet I wasn’t staying with him. I went towards him as I felt Edward enclosing my wrist with his hand. “Vince- I mean Dad?... I promise I will come back to see you, but I gotta go. Thank you for being there and to look after me. I... I... I love you.” I quickly gave him a hug and pulled apart. I still didn’t want to get dragged back to the darkness yet again.“I will keep watching you. If anyone dares to harm you, I will know.” He then brought his cloak in front of his body and disappeared as we stared into the dissolving smoke that lingered around. I turned around to see Edward and he pulled me into a tight embrace. “I thought I lost you. I thought you would hate me seeing in that condition.” He hid his face into my neck. Then it dawned on me that he already knew Vincent and previously his hands and mouth was smeared with blood. Also, the lady that lay down by his side had blood gushing out from her neck as if someone bit her like that of vampire. -‘Is it than... that he is... he is also a vampire?’- I stiffed as I could feel him still embracing me tightly.
