So here I was, outside of my father's office for the second time today. I was hoping that this was going to be about me leaving, but I kept my guard up all the same.
I gave the same knock and waited for the same "Enter" as always. I'd done this countless times before, but in the last 24 hours, everything had changed. I was no longer a scared little boy, or a defiant teenager. I was the soon to be successor of my father's empire. Whether he knew it or not didn't matter, I knew it.
