Anery saw that Katherine was uncomfortable with the way the conversation went and she stopped asking about Cellan. One thing Katherine can count on with Anery is her tactful way. The lady would be a great diplomat or a wonderful mother. She thinks that maybe there is something else behind the questioning, but right now she is too embarrassed to ask.
“What do you want me to practise out here?” Katherine inquires and changes the topic for good. She thinks about Cellan way too much, she doesn’t need to talk about him with his mistress. And she hates to admit it even to herself that she does like him that way.
