I was in a stance.
My jaw dropped as tears flowed down my face. I grabbed a nearby bottle in anger and threw it at them, but they dodged it as the bottle shattered in the white wall.
Everyone gasps in horror.
“So, it is true,” I muttered. “Stefan, you were getting married to her,” I pointed at Lucy, who was already beginning to frown, and was not liking where this was going. This was her wedding, and I was wrecking the moment.
Stefan ruffled through his hair nervously and walked down the little stairs, and came to me whispering. “What are you doing here?”
It filled me up with rage to the extent of tearing him apart.
“What sort of question are you supposed to ask me? You were getting married, and you never told me.” I stained my voice with so much pain, I could hear my words across the hall and the audience was hearing every bit of what was happening because I was screaming.
The despair I felt within me was just too much to swallow.
“Listen, I can explain…”
“Explain what, exactly, you scum?” I yelled. ‘After everything I’ve done for you, you were getting married behind my back, to my best friend of all people,’ I shouted and my voice stained as I coughed.
“Listen to me, Ramona…”
I slapped him hard across the face in rage. “Do not call my name. Don't you dare mention my birth name again. So, the rumors about you having an affair with Lucy were true after all and yet you denied everything and swore to me with your life when I confronted you about it.”
“Listen, I can explain. Trust me, when this is done, I will come to you and give you the full details.”
“Go to hell with your details, Stefan. What are we? What was I to you?” Tears continuously flowed down my cheeks. “After everything we’ve done together, you abandoned me, you cheated on me…”
“Tayla…”
“Three years, Stefan. We’ve been together for just three f*****g years. You stab me in the back.”
“I can…”
I cut in. “So, Ryan and Griffith were right, you were cheating on me with Lucy, while I was working my butt off because of you, our family, I wanted to please you, be a good wife to your family and not be a burden, a liability to you. I wanted you to be the father of my children, my love, my husband, my companion, and my partner for life, and this is what I get...”
“Tayla…”
“No wonder, you’ve been acting strange lately, coming home at night, drunk and asking me if I could take care of myself without you. Not knowing you were with someone else, while I was in the hospital suffering from an attack, I was suffering from a bond attack because of you and you were with Lucy on that night having fun, that’s why a rumor came about concerning you and Lucy, you denied it, saying it was all inaccurate, you argued with me and said all sorts words to me. Saying you could never cheat on me with Lucy, Stefan. What happened to the promises you made to me? What happened to the vow you took to get married to me once I turned 22? You are my mate, for crying out loud. How could you mess up my f*****g life?” I cried out.
“Ramona...”
“Don’t you dare call me by my birth name. I warned you. Don't let me do it again. You took me for a fool and threw me aside like some trash.” I cried out sorrowfully. “Why? Why did you betray me? What did I ever do to you, what have I done, and where have I offended you, Stefan, when was I wrong? What didn’t you like about me, why…”
“Can you stop this, Tayla? People are watching and you are embarrassing me.” He nearly flared out at me. I could see he was suppressing his anger.
“I am not embarrassing myself but yourself,” I yelled and began pacing around. I couldn’t believe this.
No, this wasn’t real. I was dreaming. It was all a dream; I was going to wake up soon.
“This is a dream right, you couldn’t have done this to me, Stefan. After everything, this is how you pay me.” I shrieked.
“Come over here. You are disgracing me, Tayla. Put your head out of the clouds.” He grabbed me by the arm, attempting to drag me back outside.
“STOP RIGHT THERE, THIS INSTANT,” Lucy ordered, gently walking down the staircase filled with red roses on the red carpet.
“This is my wedding. You can’t just come here and do whatever you want and take away my husband.” She got furious and the look on her face was enough to burn down a building.
“You did this to me.” I forced my arm off Stefan and confronted her. “I thought you were dating Tyler. What happened between you guys? Why did you cut me so deep and begin an affair with my boyfriend? Why did you go to that extent? Was I ever your friend?” I was weary because of the burden that was on my shoulders. “You knew you were getting married to my husband-to-be, of all the years you went to school abroad and came back to the pack, didn’t you see a man you fancied when living over there or within the realms filled of thousands of Alphas? You are getting married to an Alpha who I was planning to get married to. Don’t you have any bit of conscience at all? How dare you ruin my relationship you never built with your own hands? How dare you come into my life to wreck it? Don’t you have any bit of shame?”
“No, Tayla, I don’t have any bit of conscience. Stefan is mine and I’m getting married to him, as you can see. You can’t stop us and stop all this rant of yours. Have some dignity.”
It filled me with rage. ‘You are a freaking, f*****g whore.’
“TAYLA,” Stefan yelled.
She turned towards him angrily. “Let me speak the truth to her. Let her spill nonsense.”
What were they talking about?
“She doesn’t need to hear the truth from you. Just get out of here, you are ruining everything,” Stefan shouted.
“How am I ruining everything? You were the one that betrayed me and went behind my back to get married to Lucy. She has been my best friend since middle school.”
Stefan didn’t seem surprised to me.
“Who the hell gives a f**k about that? That was in the past.” Lucy interrupted with a smirky smile. “We were once best friends, not now.”
Not now?
“Yes, once, I had to go to school abroad because of you. You wrecked my school days, and you also came to ruin my wedding, too. How hilarious, haven’t you done enough already?”
“I can’t believe this. Did you ever think, or rather did you know, he was my boyfriend, my husband-to-be?”
