They were both looking intensely at each other with gloaming expressions.
I was getting scared. It’s rare to see them acting like this. What were they conversing about? My heart began beating at a rapid speed, the sweats in my body increased and who was getting married to who, I don’t understand.
“I thought you wanted to say something to her. Are you scared out of your wits now? Cat got your d**k, you dumbshit.”
Ryan clenched his fist and turned away from Griffith and uttered. “Go ahead.”
Griffith sighed. “Since you can’t do this, let me handle this my way. I know her more than you do, so, get the f**k out of my way.” He pushed Ryan off his path and walked up to me, and stared at me for a few minutes.
Then he shut his eyes and gave a long sigh.
“What’s the matter with you, Griffith? What the f**k is going on here?” I shouted at the top of my lungs with my eyes beaming. “What the f**k are you saying, I don’t understand why the both of you are acting this way. Let me in on it, what are you f*****g hiding from me, what do you mean his best friend got married to my best friend?”
“Let me speak, Ramona,” he stressed. He usually calls my birth name whenever he has something serious to say to me. “Stefan is having a wedding with Lucy as we speak.”
My heart seized for a minute with my eyes wide open.
He went on. “The rumors you’ve been hearing about him and Lucy were true. They were both having an affair behind everyone’s back and made us a laughingstock.”
“No! No!” I disagreed. ‘Stefan will never betray me. I know him. He can never betray me. He loves me and...’
“Oh, shut up.” Griffith reacted and smacked his forehead.
“Tell me what’s going on,” I insisted. “Don't jump out of nowhere and tell me to shut up.”
“Stefan is getting married to Lucy. How many times should I repeat it?” he said.
I argued. ‘`He will never do such a thing, which Stefan are you talking about, anyway?’
I needed to ask again, to be sure of what I just heard and tie my blonde hair into a ponytail with the band on my wrist and hear what he had to say to me.
“Turns out, he doesn’t love you, everything he told you, to everyone was all lies, he’s in love with someone else, and that’s Lucy, your best friend. Stefan, your mate, we all know is what I’m gabbing about, you think I talk this much when I’m speaking about somebody, especially someone we all f*****g know.”
“I don’t believe you, Griffith.” I cried out in tears. “No, Stefan can’t do it. He loves me. Maybe you are talking about some other Stefan, not this one.”
‘Well, he doesn’t. Unless he deceived you all these years, he’s in love with Lucy. You better accept it now or drop it.’
“I ought to see for myself, you are lying to me, Griffith.”
“Have I ever lied to you about something like this, a matter this delicate and serious?”
“I don’t care. Where is he?” I yelled at him, he pointed in a certain direction.
‘At the Wolf’s House,’ he replied.
I gasped and brushed past him, running with all my strength, hoping this wasn’t some bad dream, a nightmare.
I know Stefan, he would never betray me, yet, as soon as I got to the Wolf’s house, I ran to the window and what my gaze fell on crumbled my world.
“Stefan Bardawulf, will you take Lucy Wolf as your lawful wedded wife, in peace and unity, for better or worse, till death do you part?”
The priest stood before them in his black attire, his little eyeglass was on as he looked between them, holding his book in his hand. He was an old man in his fifties. His long white beard fell across his neck and cleared his throat to put the couple in their thoughts.
With an instant, exciting reply, holding Lucy’s soft hands.
“Yes, yes, I take Lucy Wolf as my lawful wedded wife. I do.”
My heart shattered.
The priest turned to Lucy. “Do you take Stefan Bardawulf as your lawful wedded husband in peace and unity, for better or worse, till death do you part?”
She smiled and nodded. “Yes, I take Stefan Bardawulf as my lawful wedded husband.”
“You may kiss the bride.” The priest instructed.
Stefan smiled and was about to kiss Lucy. I ran towards the entrance and slammed the door open.
The audience gasped, seeing who just entered the hall, and wondered who I was and why I would enter the reception like that.
The scene before shattered me.
I could tell by their looks, I could read them but my heart and focus was on Stefan, dressed in his white suit, his dark red hair neatly combed, his jawline was muscular and his torso.
Six feet tall, his pale pink lips were soft, his pointed nose, his pierced ears, including his lower lip and dark eyes were the brightest and his skin was nearly as white as snow and the shape of his face was manly with no beards.
He was the handsome Alpha I was in love with, my mate, the man of my dreams.
The Alpha I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, make him the father of my children, the head of my home was standing at the altar with my best friend, who he cheated on me with and standing with thousands of audience in the Wolf’s House.
The decorated place was red with white ribbons, flowers all over the place, candles were lit, the lights were so bright, everyone wore their best outfits for this wedding.
This place was like a paradise.
Why was I the only one left out of the preparations? Why was I not informed of this wedding happening and when was this planned right under my nose without me hearing about it?
I looked at my parents and saw them sitting as the most important guests in the gathering, so even my parents knew about this mess and never told me about it.
Wow, they prepared quite a show for me. I suddenly felt helpless to the bone.
Stefan was beyond shocked. He didn’t expect me to come to his wedding. What was I doing there? How did I find out about him? He must have wondered.
How did I know he was getting married today? This wasn’t his plan. I was ruining everything.
He must have had these silly thoughts of planning to tell me everything after the wedding, not during the wedding.
I walked in, my pale face in shock, I yanked off the flowers blocking my face, and kicked the arranged presents.
I took one of them as I walked towards them on the red carpet, the flowers, and presents in my hands fell to the red carpet as I strode towards the couple before me, the traitors, as my phone also slipped off my hand and fell to the carpet.
