Without warning, Hack cut the craft’s forward thrust and slammed the controls into reverse.
Ginger’s claws sank deeper into the wood of her seat. Only the death grip kept her from tumbling forward into the load.
Maxx must have been used to the maneuver. He held the overhead piping as any skilled sailor might. His body took the jolt of the operation with ease. He swiveled, and their eyes met. He showed no fear. Only a look of excitement plastered over his face.
