"Hey, Sarah! I'm so glad to finally see you!" Rhea comes and smiles at me, pulling me out of my reverie.
"Hey, Rhea!" I smile.
"I got this new kimono from the outskirts of Japan, you have to see this! It'll be my next post," She takes out her phone to show me all the pictures excitedly.
"They are awesome!" I look at them mesmerized.
"By the way, I lost all the data from my external hard disk; you'll have to give me the pictures and the lists again!"
"There you go, Brad must have been so happy!" She laughs giving me her pen drive.
"Actually he wasn’t, he took me out for a breakfast date to make sure that I was not sulking over this thing and then dropped me off here." I smile ear to ear, surprising myself.
"You. Are. One. Lucky. Chick. Brad is so darn hot. He is rich, from an elite B- school, and a doting husband. What else could a girl want?" She says comically, swooning over my husband.
"I know, right!" I say, swooning over my husband too.
What? Brad is totally swoon-worthy!
We get back to our respective work, planning, clicking and writing stuff losing track of time. I am brought back to the planet by my cell phone which is ringing really loud right now, almost as if complaining about being ignored all day long.
I get up and stretch my body before I walk towards the desk with my bag on it. I fish out my phone. It’s Brad.
"Hey, baby."
"Hi."
"Where are you?"
"At work"
"I am on my way back home; want me to pick you up?" He asks.
I look at the watch. It's 10:30 PM. Where the hell did the time fly?
"Yes, please."
"Brad? Can you pick up Chinese on the way?"
"You got it, love. See you in twenty." He says and hangs up. I put my phone in the silent mode.
I move around a bit, gathering my stuff and switching off my laptop for the day. I see Rhea working in the farthest corner of the room. She is looking quite engrossed. She really is hard working and has a keen eye for all the good clothes and fashion at really affordable prices. I decide not to disturb her and sit in my corner of the room waiting for Brad to come over.
I open my eyes to see Brad standing over me.
"Oh, I slept," I say raising my hands to him. He pulls me up.
"No worries baby. I called you and you weren’t picking up your phone so I came upstairs." He kisses me on the cheek.
We are about to leave hand in hand when Rhea comes rushing over to us.
"Hi, Brad!"
"Rhea..." He says and smiles.
"What are you doing here?" She is all smiles.
"Yeah, I came to get my wife. Bye." He says and drags me along to his car.
"Why are you so rude to her?" I ask him once we are inside his car.
"Rude? Really?"
"You know you are!"
"I don’t like her vibes. She is all over me every time she sees me. How do you like her?" He scrunches his nose and I can’t help but laugh.
"She likes you, so what? You are adorable." I kiss him.
He smiles.
Ten minutes later, we reach home and I am sitting on the dining table after I have put the food in the oven to heat. Brad comes in, looking all fresh. I go to take a quick bath and settle on the dining table and start eating. We don’t bother with separate plates more often than not.
"Umm .. Brad?"
"Yes, baby?"
"I wanted to talk to you about something," I tell him slightly nervous.
"Yeah, tell me?" He looks at me while hogging his food.
"The online magazine that we launched was a huge hit."
"I know and I am so proud of you". He gives me a quick smile.
"I want to make that into a physical magazine, and I need money, much more than I have right now."
He looks at me and rolls his eyes.
"Sarah, for the thousandth time, whatever is mine is yours. Just give me a figure and the money will be in your bank account by morning."
"Thank you, I will repay you the entire amount with interest this time," I wink.
“Yeah, I know.” He says slightly annoyed.
I gave him all his money back only last month that I owed him. He wouldn’t take the interest obviously and I tease him about it. He is rich and he doesn’t care about money as I do.
He waves off his hand like he wouldn’t bother arguing over something so puny right now.
I want to make out but we are both exhausted and we sleep the moment we hit the bed.
