Chapter 2.

Valerie went on to join her friend at the mating bonfire.

"You would love Richard, he's a nice gentleman."

Valerie still looks uninterested while she smirked at her friend, she just to wanted to go back home.

Anglo left Valerie at the spot were they joined the bonfire. She left Valerie to get Richard as though she was really doing the best for her friend's interest.

"Richard, my friend, Valerie. Valerie, this is Richard, he is a billionaire."

Anglo finished with a childish smile on her as though she was really happy about their meeting. Valerie really wanted not to entertain meeting anyone right at that time but with Anglo's excitedly expectant face and Richard's warm smile, she decided to throw her rudeness and blunt all away.

"You've quite a beautiful smile. I could tell even in at this darkest time, I really can't wait to see all your beauty by daytime."

Richard was on about Valerie's very fake smile. She had to put that on not to give an impression of rudeness and bluntness at first meeting. But at same time, she really never wanted this meeting with Richard.

Richard went about himself being all rich and wealthy. His compliments of Valerie didn't last anymore than a minute but went on and on about himself for minutes. This was really throwing Valerie off, all she wanted was to bring this conversation to an end and just go home. Not acting so rude kept lingering in her mind as she tried her hardest to end this misery of a conversation she is having Richard.

Anglo had already left them doing the catching up.

As though Valerie took a peep in Anglo's mind, Valerie could tell Anglo wished this catching between Richard and her could go on for the whole night and could even lead to something intimate. Valerie unfaltering heart especially towards Richard won't give in to what Anglo deeply but secretly wants from her.

Valerie thought she could call Anglo empathetically in a bit to end this talk with Richard. She also looks to draw anglo's attention towards them as she turns her face in almost all directions in a less distracting manner in order to lock contacts with Anglo to show her misery and frustration she is getting from this forceful conversation.

Unfortunately, Anglo was nowhere near in sight.

"We could spend the night together, if you don't mind, Valerie."

Richard said to her, she abruptly turns to lock eye contact with Richard, this time, with absolute disapproval of his wish.

Valerie could quickly tell he wanted something else from her. She has to admit, she is indeed very sexy with that body every man in her tribe wants to have a feel of. And most times, she even appeals to ladies. But she wasn't ready to give in to any man's s****l fantasies, not even Richard's.

He kept trying to persuade and convince her in joining him. To Valerie, he comes off as a very proud and arrogant man which was a complete turn off to her.

"I can get you whatever you want tonight, just spend my night place. Oh, I would also like you to get to know my parents, I feel they would love to meet you."

He spoke so confident of himself again, which reeks of pride and arrogance. I really do not want this meeting any further but he keeps pushing for it, now, he wants a meeting with his parents.

"Can we take things really slow, Richard. Maybe another time, but not this night."

I said to Richard bluntly. I don't know if that came off or sounded as being rude, but I had no option than to cut him the way I did.

However, he looks so like he doesn't care if his feelings for me are being reciprocated, he only cares about feeding his ego.

"Well, if you say so. But it would really hurt me now if you turn this down, my parents are really expecting I bring home a possible bride and daughter-in-law." He said so confidently

"Possible bride!... Daughter-in-law!" I said inaudibly to myself. He sure has no end to his bluff, as I smirked and turned towards a different direction.

"Are you really not going to honor my invitation?"

He spoke as though he threw all his pride and arrogance away for a moment.

"How is it going guys?"

Anglo just came in from nowhere, she looked as though her divine wish has been granted. Her desire for Valerie to get hooked up to Richard was playing out so fine in her mind.

Valerie really wants to bring her to reality, this wasn't working and doesn't plan on working. Richard had to cut in before she could make her thoughts known to Anglo.

"Your friend, Valerie is turning down the invitation to my house. I would really love for her to meet my parents, they are dying to meet my soon-to-be bride. Well I cannot force her but I do feel really hurt right now."

That was quite a speech there from Richard. Those words can melt anyone's heart away, and was so doing to Anglo at the moment.

Valerie couldn't help but understand that she has been thrown into a helpless situation as that speech was doing Anglo a great deal.

Richard is also one that gets what he wants at all cost. Being manipulative can be option if he sees it as an opportunity to get what he wants, that, which has gotten hold of Anglo as she looks disappointed at me.

"No, Valerie, knowing his parents is no big deal. Just go, I promise you'll never regret it okay. Please don't refuse, his parents are also nice people, you'll grow to love them too"

Those emotional, yet affirming words of Anglo were beginning to take it's effect Valerie as Richard kept his pathetic face which is all in pretense and emotionally manipulative.

Valerie looked for reasons and excuses to refuse her friend's plea, but none was in sight. All she could only think of was helplessly giving in to what they want, going go Richard's house.

"I didn't refuse, Anglo, I just wanted to take things slowly. But it's fine I'll be going with him, it's no big deal as you rightly said"

Valerie said as she prepares her mind for a decision she never thought she would make.
