Now he found out where he got his stubbornness from but he knew his Mom was not like the other pirates. It was just peoples' stereotypical judgement towards Pirates. Just because you own a ship and practically live in it in the middle of the ocean doesn't mean you're a pirate, it could mean you're an adventurer but Arlo's Mom lived on her life being known as a Pirate.
And it wasn't of any use having to prove herself to anyone and she did not need to.
"The mermaid was beautiful. She had a beautiful silver hair that gleamed in the dark. A dazzling violet tail, the scales were literally shining when facing any direction of light. Her arms were also covered in scales."
"At this point, I already gained her trust and was sitting next to the rock she was resting against. We both had our babies in our laps. I couldn't help but awe at Arlo's cute gesture towards her baby. He was staring at her the whole time and even grabbed her hand!"
Arlo shot a surprised face at himself with his actions. He remember nothing of this but he couldn't help but blush out of embarrassment.
"I spent nearly 3 hours with her and Arlo fell asleep in my arms with his hand holding the little girl's. I asked her where was this place called and she told me it was called, Gyeonggi Island.."
Gyeonggi Island? The same island I currently live in?
"..I then asked if she wasn't afraid of being caught by any human. She said that they were all asleep." Arlo tensed at that sentence. The scenario. It was all too familiar.
"Curiousity got the best of me and I began to ask if the father of the child was human, since she did not have a tail."
Arlo froze across another revelation, he gulps in the knot that formed its way in his throat before flipping through the next page.
"She chuckled at my question and tells me that their tails turn to legs when going out of the water."
