Aeris’s pov
She caught a glimpse of sadness when Izel’s name was mentioned, and I felt bad for scraping her wound. But, nothing can change the fact Izel was a traitor, and he had his hands dirty in my father’s blood. Arabella fixed her posture and halted to glance at me before offering a cup of warm jasmine tea. I chuckled under my breath because these tricks wouldn’t work on me, not anymore.
Arabella sighed and put the cup down harshly. I wanted to laugh at her demeanor, but I needed to investigate her before I made any rude remark which would cause a rift between us or delay our mission to find the killer.
“What do you want to talk about?” She asked without lifting her lashes. With a grin, I went straight to get myself a comfy chair because this conversation wouldn’t end fairly.
