SISTERS DUEL

Aeris's pov The hall went silent when Lady Marian fell on her back and was found unconscious. For a moment, no one moved from their places but suddenly, everyone rushed to pick Marian and brought her to the table. A few female royal members of the family rushed to grab fresh water for Marian. Meanwhile, Caspian headed to pick the paper and grabbed it in his hands. I was watching everything from my seat and found it amusing. All these people rushed after Marian because they thought Marian would be the Queen for the kingdom. However, Caspian's confused expressions gave me a good reason to think about my hypothesis again. While he read the will of my father, his gaze kept running back to me. What was that? Lady Marian gapsed liksy and woke up. She looked for the will in her hands but found nothing. When her gaze struck Caspian's pointed ones, She got down from the table and rushed to snatch the paper from his hands. "Give it back to me!!!" She was shouting… Color on her face was gone and she appeared pale as a ghost. Caspian tilted his head and put the paper in his right hand while suspending it in the air. Marian couldn't reach because She was a short lady while Caspian had a towering built. Not a man in the kingdom could be strong enough to take back those papers. "I said give them to me." Lady Marian was losing her control and screeching like a Banshee. "If you could have asked nicely, I had thought of giving it to you but being a b***h won't let you get a hand on these papers." Caspian stated with his pensive gaze narrowed at Marian. "Did you call me a b***h?" She gasped. "Do you want me to repeat?" Capsian snapped at her. His half smile was a dangerous s**t. "Calm down!" I raised my voice. "We are accumulated to read the will of my father and find out how much property is divided. I want this to be done peacefully." "Peace would never be an option, my star." He looked at me with an amusing expression lingering in his face. I knitted my brows and wondered what he meant. He approached and handed me the will to read. I gave those papers to the advisor and gestured to him to continue. However, my gaze never left Caspian's. He was a charming man. And a man with a charm was a dangerous thing. "According to this will, The throne is given to Queen Aeris and her husband, King Capsian. Half of the property is given to Princess Arabella under care of Queen Aeris. A respective treasury would be provided to the royals in the kingdom." The advisor declared the main objective of the will. I smiled, thanking my father that he made sure the kingdom would be looked after. But, It gave Lady Marian a heart attack as she fell back in the arms of her young boys. She got nothing and maybe she wanted to change the will. These morons won't understand how things work in a professional environment. Just having a sip of luxury doesn't mean you own it. It takes several years and hard work to learn a skill. I pitied them. "We got nothing! My mother worked hard to get a position in the ministry." Earnest, Lady Marian's eldest son, spoke in protest. "Your mother did nothing but sipped her tea in the gardens and played cards with other women. How is that considered hard work? Infact, you never tried to learn anything but living on the taste of luxury provided to you because you carry royal blood. It is hard to break but you must sweep the mess you have created." Arabella took the initiative to clarify the facts. Many royals were disappointed from the will. I never wanted the throne but since I have got it, I would be taking good care of it. One by one, everyone left. Caspian, Arabella and I, remained behind to talk to the advisor. "Your highness! To be honest, I am satisfied with the decision King Aramus took before his sudden death. However, the people of the kingdom might not approve of this rulership." The advisor started with a gaze glued at me. "Because I am a woman?" I asked him directly. "I am afraid but yes!" He nodded his head in agreement. "Was it really supposed to be her, The Queen?" Arabella asked the advisor. "Is there any doubt, sister in law?" Capsian broke the silence and raised his brows at her. "Isn't she already a Queen to a kingdom of far far land? Now she is getting the throne of this kingdom. How does it feel to have your both hands full, Aeris?" There was a certain jealousy in her voice. "Where is this coming from? We both knew who would get the throne. There was no competition." I snapped at her. "Oh! Really? Well, let me clear your misunderstanding. We were not in competition when you were marrying Izel. However, it didn't turn out to be a nice wedding after all." She began to say things out of her mouth. "It didn't turn out to be a good wedding because you stole him from me." I yelled at her. "Did I steal him? No, he was never yours in the first place to be stolen. Anyway! You got a charming king by your side. I don't know what luck you have on your side but I won't let you win this time." She gave me an equal competition. "Wow! Looks like we have another one for the throne. I want to see a cat fight too. It's been a while since I had good entertainment here." Caspian was enjoying this and I glared at him. What was he thinking? "You must support me! You are my husband." I jabbed at him in a hissing tone. "Sorry, my star but I remember a couple of days ago you said you don't need my support and protection. You are an independent young woman who can fight her own battles. Show me the talent, girl!" He winked at me and smiled at Arabella. This man had some guts and I hate him. I gritted my teeth and faced Arabella, "Fine! I will happily give you the throne if you prove you are a worthy Queen for the kingdom. You got three days before my coronation. I have high hopes for you. But, if you fail, you won't utter a word about the throne and I will take the property given to you till you serve your punishment." I was fuming in rage. My sister challenged me for the throne and this troll king was waiting for some action. I knew he was a numbnut but he was worse than anyone else. "Three days and the throne will be mine." She snapped her fingers on my face and left like a drag queen. The drama this family carried was a great entertainment for others. I rubbed my temples and asked for a glass of water. Capsian handed me the glass full of water and I narrowed my gaze at him. "Take it, My star! You need to stay hydrated if you want to think with a cool mind." His half smile was a dangerous thing. "What is cooking in your head? Why did you let her challenge me?" I was furious. "Why not? I want to see the kind of Queen you will be for the kingdom. A Queen must have to prove her loyalty to the kingdom and this is the right chance. I have heard a lot from your father how good he raised you, trained you and shaped you to be the Queen. Even before he died, I knew he would make you the Queen. Consider this as a test of your loyalty to your people. My star!" He closes the proximity between us and puts his lips on mine. My body went into a shock and my nerves got numb. No matter what, I couldn't get a reaction but felt the burning lava on my delicate lips. There were waves running down to my things and I forgot to breathe for the moment. We heard a loud cough and noticed the advisor standing a few meters away with his eyes covered. Caspian broke the kiss and smiled like a little devil. That sneaky little bastard. "I am sorry!" I don't know why I apologized. "Don't you ever apologize for the fire inside you! You are a child of magic, My star!" He smiled and left me alone in the hall. Why did my heart come into my mouth? Was the kiss he talked about earlier as a prize? I hate him! I hate him!
