CHAPTER 17 Ricky walked slowly back to the car. Something had been nagging him since he saw Jillian outside struggling with that barn door. She was lonely. And who could blame her? Everyone was speculating on what might have compelled that McAllister girl to return to Orchard Grove. The public explanation was she’d come to help take care of her grandmother, but other than a short hospital stay last December, Grandma Lucy was in perfectly fine health.
