CHAPTER 12 Jillian couldn’t remember a longer service. As humiliated as she was for Grandma Lucy making such a scene at the end, outshining the pastor and leading the congregation in one of those old-fashioned, emotionally laden altar calls, she was even more relieved when it was finally over. Connie was busy talking to some friends, Uncle Dennis was waiting by the door holding Connie’s purse, and Grandma Lucy was still up front, praying for that gangly boy who’d been the only one to walk up the aisle.
