Chapter Five

Liam could not believe his ears, was he dreaming? of course not, it was real, his Fiancée was Pregnant......with his child.

Liam could not contain his happiness. His dream was finally coming true, to be a Dad. He loved kids and had always wanted one.

Lucy had no idea how this news made Liam happy. He felt as if he was on top of the world, the happiest man on earth and the most amazing soon to be dad.

Liam got up from where he was seated. He approached Lucy with a priceless smile. He circled his arms around her waist possessively. "Are you for real?" He asked, looking into her beautiful eyes.

Lucy nodded, biting her lips in the process.

"Oh sweetheart, I love you so much. Thank you!" He pulled her into a hug. He pulled away after a while and connected his lips to hers, pouring all his happiness into the kiss.

“When did you find out?” He asked, caressing her cheek.

"This morning," Lucy whispered. "I've been feeling weird for the past few days so I mustered up the courage to take a test today."

Liam nodded, unable to get rid of the smile on his face. "Any idea how far you are?" Liam asked as he tucked some strands of hair behind her ear, excitement evident in his voice.

"Three weeks," Lucy replied.

Liam rested his forehead against Lucy’s own. He closed his eyes “Thank you so much, my love. You don't know how happy you've made me." He couldn't help himself so he placed a long kiss on her forehead.

Liam’s hand found its way to Lucy’s still flat belly. “We will take care of him or her together, shower him or her with so much love and make sure he or she doesn’t lack anything. I promise to protect you and the baby.” Liam said, sealing his promise with a kiss.

Lucy and Liam were congratulated by their friends. Liam’s joy knew no bounds. He did not even wait to get to see his parents and sister in person before giving them the news. “why not do it now?” He said to himself. He reached for his phone in his pocket and called his parents to give them the news.

Ruby and Robert were the happiest. Their dream of becoming grandparents was finally coming true. Anna was also very excited. Being an aunt to her brother's child was certainly something to look forward to.

THE NEXT DAY

"Thanks, Gabby, I will be home soon," Abigail said after which she ended the call with her babies' nanny.

She took a glance at the portable clock on her desk and saw that it was just 3:30 pm. She would be closing by 5. She had called Gabby to ask about her twins; If she had picked them up from school and if her twins were cooperating with her. Gabby said everything was fine and that the twins were good to her. Abigail was so relieved that everything was going well on the first day of work.

Abby remembered she had to take some document to Damon to tender his signature. She rose to her feet, straightened her pencil skirt, took the documents from her table and headed to Damon’s office which was next to hers.

“Come in,” Damon said after Abigail knocked on his door. She helped herself in.

"How can I help you, Abigail?" Damon asked, looking very happy. Abby couldn't help but wonder if Damon was always like this. It was barely 24hrs that she had been working for him but she was able to conclude that he had a good personality. She has heard stories of wicked bosses and was extremely glad that Damon wasn't like that.

Well, at least not yet. He had done nothing but treated her nicely since she set foot in his company. Damon told all the staff to take an early day off, so by 3 pm, most of the staff of Damon inc had gone home. Of course, Abigail and Angela, Damon's PA had to stay behind because they had lots of work to do for Damon.

“I brought these documents for you to sign so Angela will be able to distribute them to our clients,” Abigail said as she approached Damon and handed him the documents.

Damon briefly went through them. He reached for his pen and when he was about to tender his signatures, Abigail spoke. "Can I ask you a question?" She whispered enough for Damon to hear.

"Sure." He replied, focusing on the papers he was signing.

“You seem very happy today. Is there anything you want to share?” Abigail asked as she took a seat across Damon.

“Is it that obvious?” He smiled.

Abigail nodded.

“I just discovered yesterday that I'm going to be an uncle,” Damon said to Abby, before turning his attention back to the documents before him.

"Oh!" Abigail exclaimed. "Well, definitely some good news, Congratulations, boss." She smiled. "But I thought you were the only child" Abigail added, a bit confused.

"Yeah, I am. My best friend’s fiancèe is expecting a baby. I’m in love with my best friend’s sister so that automatically makes me a soon to be Uncle.” Damon explained.

Abby nodded, trying to digest what Damon had just told her.

"I'm so happy for you, a child is a blessing." Abby smiled.

“Yeah, I know,” Damon replied. "The whole family is going crazy already, most especially the father, my best friend. We can’t wait for the baby to arrive. I just hope It’s a boy so I can spoil him more."

Abigail smiled and nodded. “I can imagine.” She could sense how Damon’s best friend’s baby will be so loved. She was really happy for them.

"Here," Damon handed her the documents once he was done signing them. Abigail collected them and went back to her office.
