Episode 2

Jake

" Mr. Smith" The bald man exhales deeply as If he was running after me for a while.

" Will you let me go first?" I ask coldly and he removed his hands immediately.

" I'm sorry, it's like God sent you to me today. I have been trying to make appointments with you but your crazy sec.." he held his lips when he noticed the deadly glare I shot at him.

" I have a business to attend to if you'll get out of my way" He moved to the other side and I walked away.

" He's such a motherfucker, Why can't he let his kids be a model like his wife?" I hear him mutter behind my back as I stopped on my track, clenching my fist together as I tried to stop myself so as not to cause trouble in the hospital environment.

"Let's calm down" I heaved a silent sigh and walked away.

* Send out all my private investigators, my wife location must be tracked before 2:00 * 

* Before 2? Boss, I don't think that'll be possible, I am not saying we can't try to but it's kinda hard to..*

*I don't wanna know the means you're going to try out, get ready to pack your things if you can't find her before my given time" 

I throw the phone to my side after giving such stern orders which were unlike me.

Karen

" Ouch" 

" My head, Oohh "

"Doctor Sam Doctor Sam" I could hear a tiny voice calling out to a doctor who could attend to me, the pain running through my head was unbearable and it hurts than menstrual cramps.

After a while of checking my eyes and touching my forehead, I think I'm feeling better now.

" Are you okay?" I almost roll my eyes at the innocent-looking doctor.

" I am very okay" I replied whilst hiding my fast breathing.

" What's your name?" He asked abruptly.

"Is there a need to answer that? I thought you said I was okay so why are you asking me all these kindergarten questions?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I was getting angry already.

The flowery scent I smelled was coming from somewhere near as I gaze around like a lurking thief just to get where the scent was coming from, the nurse and doctor stared at me but I didn't mind them not until a kid with a mirror on her chest walks right in front of me.

" I can't be seeing things right?" I thought of seeing myself in the mirror.

" Wait, What if this is the effect of getting into an accident? Oh no! This can't be happening to me" I was shivering as I climbed down the bed making a loud bang on the floor.

" Hey, kiddo" I giggled as I beckon for her but she was hesitant to come not until I made a cute face and she ran towards me immediately.

" Oh my Your smelling like a flower" she remarks and moved closer to me.

" What am I wearing?" I ask in a tight-lipped condition.

" You're wearing a white flowery top and a boyfriend Jean I think?" She was not sure as I turn my head to the nurse asking for her confirmation and the kid was right.

" Why am I not wearing my old dress?" I was getting back into my normal self.

" Mr. Smith asked us to change you into this but the nurse did not me" The doctor explained and I almost burst into laughter at the way he just acted.

" We were asked to give you this just in case you want an apology….or settlement!" I didn't take the last part to heart.

" How will his apology be of any help? " I groan annoyingly as I snatched the card from him, he wants me to come to his company so he could ask for the hospital bills and the clothes too.

I'm not supposed to be at the kid's park?? I made my way out of the hospital room after me getting my bag from the counter, I throw the card into the trash can on my way out as I didn't see any reason to keep it in my custody.

" Taxi" I'm not supposed to board a taxi but I'm pretty sure my new boss will pay up when I get there, they seem to be nice during the interview session and they'll let me off if I told them what happened.

" What If they don't believe me?" I thought as I scratched my forehead. "Think positively, will you" My subconscious warns and I took it off my mind immediately.

" Miss" 

"Miss, We're here!" I shook my head to get the silly thoughts off my mind but my whole system feels frozen as I alighted from the taxi.

It was hard to take a step forward, it ain't easy to step back either as I exhale deeply and walked to the guard's post.

" Good afternoon sir, I'm here t…" I didn't finish my sentence as he shot me a deadly glare.

" I was told not to allow anyone in here, by the way, are you Karen?" He asked staring at me from head to toe as If I was different from what they told him.

" Yes, I am" I replied in a bold but awkward way.

" Then you shouldn't be here, the boss will be going out soon and I was asked to call the police or release the dogs if you don't leave immediately" He became a bit stern from earlier.

" Please, I got into an accident that's why I came late… this is my last string of hope" I pleaded but it doesn't seem like he'll show any emotions towards my plead at all.

" Darn it, Find someone else for your kids I'm not even interested in you crazy rich people" I cursed out loud and the gate sprawled open all of a sudden.

" I was even thinking of taking you in but you just showed us that you're nothing but a rude poor lady" She hissed and asked her kids to recite what she just said which they did in unison, I shut my eyes tightly at the embarrassment I was facing. 

Their car drove past me and I was left all alone in front of their huge mansion, I find it hard to sob as I turned to leave unsure of what would come next.

I promised that miserly landlord that I'll pay the rent today because I thought I would add today's pay to my savings, everything is shattered right now.

I tottered tiredly to the bus station and thankfully I was able to get on the last bus that was going straight in my direction, I am supposed to be sad or even crying right now but I feel like a burden had been lifted off my shoulder.

Those kids would be tiring to tend to and I'll be exhausted all day which I don't think I was ready to face.

Jake

"We tried to locate her but…" he stopped halfway

"But I don't think she's still in the country, her phone is turned off and the tracker inside her bag is nowhere to be found" He explained making me feel irritated.

She can't possibly leave the country just because of what happened, I didn't go too far, I simply wanted to make love to her which she took In the wrong direction. She should be thankful that I'm not a womanizer, girls are waiting in line just to have me and she's acting this way.

" Forget about it and go do your work, send my secretary in" I told him and he bowed before exiting the room.

"Sir, I didn't know you arrived already" The scent of perfume filled my whole office as I find it hard to breathe, staring at her from head to toe I almost gulped at her appearance, the way her curve fit perfectly in the body con short skirt but I quickly face another direction.

" You wouldn't know, don't come into my office without knocking again" I scolded as she changed her expression from the seducing one to a professional secretary.

" I want the data from the marketing team, inform The development manager to see me at my house today you should both be present" I informed and her face speaks about how curious she was.

" Okay sir, you have a visitor request and I don't know if I should decline or accept it" She explained and I thought it was the lady from earlier.

That was too quick, I don't think she'll want an apology, she'll be here for settlement.

" Accept it" I replied hastily, just as she was about to leave my phone begins to ring.
