"Dad, she's burning up!" Kendall cried out and I shush her up.

"Get me a clean towel and warm water, be quick about it" I ordered, I jumped out of the bed as she was too sluggish to get me what I needed.

After cleaning her face with the warm towel, she has calmed down a bit and she seems to be getting back to sleep.

I don't know why this woman wouldn't just leave in peace, it's my fate to be a single father and I'll try my best to fulfill that.

"You go back to bed too, you have classes tomorrow" One thing I always have in my head about them is their lessons and things related to their education.

" Don't go" Kendall grabbed the tip of my shirt and I couldn't help but fall to the bed, I was feeling sleepy before.

The sun rays made it ways into Karen's small hole that she calls window, it finds their way to her face and she jumped up at the scorch of the sun on her skin.

" Oh my, It's morning already!!" She exclaimed looking all scattered and unkempt.

I heard what the doctor said about a settlement, what if I asked him to make me a cleaner at his house?- She thought as she wandered around in her room.

That's a silly thought, he might think I'm going to seduce him, She rethinks in different directions.

You saw a girl having a 2 minutes shower, well Karen had a quickie which she calls the shower and changed into any outfit she lays her hand on.

Deep down in her, she regretted throwing the card into the trash can and prays that they are yet to dispose of it.

" Are you boarding or not ??" The taxi driver looks furious as if he was just insulted by someone higher up.

" I'm going" She hissed and tried entering the taxi but move back as she was still contemplating whether to board a taxi or bus.

" Thank goodness you're not my first customer, else I'll have gone back to sleep for the rest of the day!" He snorted and drove off, her face was filled with puzzles, she doesn't even know what's going on with her.

After tricking and playing childishly with about 5 taxis, a strange car parked in front of her as she flinched backward.

" Don't be scared, I won't hurt you?" Her eyes were sparkling at the young-looking man who got out of the car.

"Don't be swayed, he's way too young for you .. your situation doesn't need a pinch of romance talking less of a hot romance" She thought but her heart was in control, she was dumbfounded as the man pulled her to the car.

Words couldn't find their ways out of her mouth as she was seated in the car.

" Where…ar. e. You taking me??" Her eyes blinked continuously as she finally comes back into reality.

" I'm taking you to wherever you're going, I'm just a man you don't know and you'll never know…let me just take you to your destination" The young man explained to her and she nodded when nothing from what the man said got into her head.

" Loca…" she didn't let him finish his sentence as she cuts in.

" The second hospital at the end of this road!" Her voice was coming back into place and she wouldn't stop staring at the man.

"Can I at least know your name?" She asked immediately the man stepped on the brake pads Right in front of the hospital.

" Do you know that?.." he smirks and stopped talking.

" That what??" She was more eager to hear what he has to say.

" That being too curious can kill you" He whispered into the hollows of her ear as her body trembles at his words.

She didn't want to waste another second in his car anymore as she quickly tries to open the door, " I hope we don't meet again" He said for the last time and zoomed off.

" Who wants to meet you before?" She yelled like a crazy woman as the pedestrians gazed at her awkwardly.

For some moments, she forgot the reason why she came to the hospital and she ran like an Olympic athlete when she remembered.

" God, I seldom call unto you but now that I'm…please let me find this card" If this would be called a prayer.

She doesn't have a clear remembrance of the exact trash can she tossed the card into. She opened the first one and it had some condom packs and gloves.

" What the hell is a condom pack doing in front of the hospital ?" She hummed under her breath but quickly dust it off as that was none of her business.

She searched the 6 trash cans but she found nothing, her heads swelled as if it'll burst anytime soon…her eyes caught on something familiar but she looked away instantly.

She turned towards the homeless kid who was about to shred the card age was busy looking for into pieces.

" My life depends on this" This kept ringing in her head as she runs towards the kid.

" Don't cut it please" She bends her back to meet the boy's level.

" Give me a reason why I shouldn't?" She was shocked at the quick and blunt question the little boy threw at her.

" No reason, I just…"

" Then I'll cut it" He placed the scissors at the bottom of the card and was about to cut it again.

" Aren't you hungry?" She thought she could cajole him with food.

" I'll buy you everything you want" She doesn't know why she's trying so hard to get something which she's not sure if it was going to work out.

" And the food was the only thing you could think of??" He rolled his eyes at her and walked away.

" Okay, what do you want?" She tried to give in but doesn't know if it's going to last.

" I…"

"I…" he stops and stares at a cart.

"I…"

"Wh.." before she could say further, the boy walked to the cart and she followed after him.

" You want this?" She was surprised and happy at the same time.

" Give us 10 sticks," She said to the cart attendant, she gazed down at him and his face was filled with happiness.

" Thank you so much, here you go" He bowed and gave her the card.

" Lifted" Her subconscious mumbled to her as a part of her problems has been lifted.

She walked further away from the hospital, searching for the nearest cafe.

" I never thought that I'll bring such happiness to someone's face" She was excited about it.

" Hey" The thick voice's called out to her making her stop on her track.
