CHAPTER NINE -- Silver Wolf

I don't know how long I have been crying till my eyes went numb, I just can't stop. I didn't even use the self-defense tactics that I have learned yesterday. I'm so terrified to go home, but I don't even know where I am inside this eerie pitch-black woods so how can I go home too? My mom and dad will probably get worried. I just hope they won't look for me, I don't want them to get hurt as I did, that would be too much hard to bear.

A moment after, I heard something moved very fast on the bushes around me. I crawled slowly to hide from a big old tree, I saw a large twig on the ground and took it with me while breathing heavily, did that wolf found me already?

I heard a low growl, I tried to peek from the big old tree where I was hiding which was a bad idea cause the big black wolf saw me and was now growling really loud like it wanted to end me. I gasped when it ran towards me, I tried to smash it with my twig but it was useless because the wolf aggressively pushed me to the ground and growled against my face.

I started to cry again am I really going to die now? I still have so many dreams in life, "P-Please don't kill me,"

I screamed when the big black wolf growled again really loud like it was going to bite my face. I closed my eyes with tears continuously falling against my cheeks. Why did this happen? I just wanted a normal life with nature and my family.

"Growl!" I tried to open my eyes and saw a big silver-furred wolf jumped over the black wolf causing me to break free. I crawled slowly away from them and saw how bad and bloody their fight is, the silver wolf has red eyes. What a beauty, so wolves are really real huh? But these wolves are kind of bigger than the normal ones... are they werewolves?

In a blink of an eye, the big silver-furred wolf easily killed the black wolf and eyed me which made me flinched, why were those eyes felt so familiar? And wait, did that wolf killed the black one so it can have me alone?

When it started to walk slowly towards me, I began to panic.

"P-Please don't kill me please," the silver-furred wolf stopped and whimpered like it was hurt to see me react like that, it looks like the wolf was checking out my body and it growled ferociously after.

I don't know where I got the strength to stand and ran away when the wolf did that. I was silently cursing myself out when I have tripped again causing me to gain another wound and before I even knew it, I lost consciousness.

Zionel Tyler White

I'm a f*****g stupid useless mate. I'm currently staring at Ravey who is still unconscious, her body is filled with bruises and large wounds. That f*****g rogue harmed my mate! I should've tortured him...

"Alpha calm down, she's alright now she's safe, she just needs to recover but it might take days because her body was really exhausted," I heard Greg said, our pack doctor. After she collapsed the moment she tripped herself over, I immediately changed into my human form to carry her in our white house deep inside the woods to get treated.

"What?! Calm down? How can I calm down if my mate is lying on my bed still unconscious huh?!" I shouted, failing to control my anger.

I was planning to secretly visit Ravey earlier because I have missed her, we haven't attended our classes today because we're still finding the trespasser that has crossed our land earlier in the morning and I was trying to avoid her too, I don't know if I can face her after we have left her alone in the cafeteria yesterday.

I can't seem to accept the fact that she had joined the Hunter Organization. I thought she wanted to hurt me or even my pack, and I'm so stupid to have that kind of mindset yesterday. I know she wouldn't do that unless I explain everything to her plus, I haven't even heard her side yet on why she had joined them.

After changing into my wolf form, I ran very fast across the woods but I stopped right after I have smelled Ravey's scent. That can't be right... What is she doing in the dark dangerous woods in the middle of the night? I got furious smelling another wolf that must be the intruder s**t! She's could be in danger!

When I heard a scream, I immediately ran so fast while following her scent and saw that f*****g rogue above her as she begged for her life. Without wasting any more time, I attacked that rogue brutally. I was so mad to recklessly kill it right in front of her, she was so scared to the point that she also begged for her life to me after I have tried to approach her. 

My hands immediately formed into a grip remembering what happened there, what if I didn't get there in time? She could've been hurt more or worse she could've died.

"We have checked their house Alpha, it looks like the rogue must've known that she was your mate and tried to attack her to get even, their living room was a mess, the stairs and doors were broken, one room was a disaster, and the two-way door terrace glass was shattered into pieces. I think she had jumped over their terrace just to escape that rogue," Carson explained after he had opened the door into my room. I furiously growled that's why she has those bruises too, she must've run to the woods after she had jumped trying to escape that rogue.

"Her parents?" I curiously asked, still staring at my mate.

"No sign of them, but I have read a letter on their fridge, saying that they will be home late so Raven was probably alone when the attack happened," Carson added slowly like he was trying to understand my situation.

"She could've been killed.. it almost got her," I hate myself for noticing it a bit too late. I'm such a useless mate, how can she accept me now that this happened?

"Waaa! How is she now? Huhu!"

"We brought her some clothes..."

I heard Yuna and Charisse said from the door, but I didn't mind them.

"She managed to escape that rogue for many minutes let's give her that," I heard Zach said trying to ease the situation after he had entered the room with Liam, which didn't help so I stood up to punch him in the face.

"Shut the f**k up! It f*****g almost killed her! Don’t tell a joke about it!" I growled at him angrily before pushing him to the ground.

"I-I'm sorry Alpha, I was just trying to see the bright side at the moment," Zach said with his nose bleeding immensely as he tries to stand up. I was about to go after him again causing Carson to stand in between us. Tch. Greg went to Zach immediately to give him some cotton balls and ice.

"You'll really see the bright side later dude if you will not shut up right now," I heard Liam whispered to him, so I sighed trying to calm myself down.

"All of you get out! Investigate where that rogue came from and leave us alone!" I shouted at them, leaving me and Ravey alone inside my room.

I went towards my bed to where she was resting. I sighed as I reached out to hold her hand to make myself at ease. She has few scars on her face that made me want to curse myself even more, but it didn't erase the beauty that she has.

"I'm so sorry Ravey, I really am... please wake up soon I can't bear to see you like this," I mumbled hoping that she can hear me at the moment.

A few minutes later, I heard Carson's footsteps running upstairs towards my room like he was carrying some bad news. I went towards to open the door before he could even open it, he was a bit startled upon seeing me.

"Bad news Alpha, the Hunters we're almost stepping into our borders they're probably looking for her, some of our pack heard that Jason Lee and Mr. Stone were leading it what should we do?" Carson said causing me to grunt in frustration. I glanced at Ravey again, seeing her peacefully sleeping calmed me down.

"I'll go face him but I can't give her back yet, I can't and my wolf won’t like it guard her room," I ordered him, so Carson just nodded. I went outside to change into my werewolf form after I have changed, my senses around my surroundings become a hundred times better than in my human form.

I immediately found out where they are and ran over there, I stopped the moment when I heard some voices calling out my mate's name. Carefully, I have changed again into my human form and grabbed some clothes above the trees to get dressed, we always hide clothes around the forest. I have waited for the whole hunter army to walk past by the tree where I was hiding, so I can come out from their backs.

"Raven! Sweetheart, please! Where are you?" I heard Ravey's dad cried, he must've been worried sick seeing their house in a mess like that with their daughter is missing. I let out a depressed sigh and walked behind their back.

"What's going in here?" I asked causing many heads to turn on my way with their guns aiming at me, I raised both of my hands with their sudden action.

"W-Who are you? What are you doing here?" I heard someone asked from the crowd.

"Wait, I know him, put your guns down," I heard Jason Lee said causing the hunter army to give him a way to go after me, he looks so worried about my mate too and I didn't like that so I tried so hard to remain calm.

"Can I talk to Jason Lee alone?" I asked, but they all just looked at Jason to get his approval and he just nodded. I groaned mentally after they have given us some space.

"What happened? Why are you looking for Raven?" I curiously asked, pretending that I didn't know where she was or what really happened. This is the only way I can keep her in my house for weeks.

Jason Lee shook his head, "Raven is missing, their house was attacked by some animal, do you know what it was?" he asked, and I didn't like what he was thinking cause I feel like he was blaming it on us again.

Jason Lee was the only human who had seen me changed into my werewolf form, it was really a bad moment but we have made a deal, so he can keep it a secret. He wanted me to find the killer of his mother and we did but he just can't accept it, from there I have started to hate everything about him, I know he wasn't the one who spread rumors about us, but I still hate him to the core.

"No, and if you're thinking that it was us then you're wrong but I have noticed that a rogue had crossed our land again maybe that's the one who attacked her in their house," I said not plastering any emotions on my face as I saw him shrugged.

"Help us find her Zionel, she's very important to me," he appealed, causing me to grip my hands tightly. She's mine!

"Why is she important to you?" I asked him, and I'm trying so hard not to growl. He just smirked and said those words I don't really like to hear from him, even though I knew it already.

"Because I like her very much and her family was worried sick too, so add this in our deal," he replied, so I just grunted in frustration. He’s f*****g using me again.

"Our deal was already over a year ago! How many times do I have to tell you that a rogue had killed your mom Lee? Why can't you accept that?!" I shouted out in frustration, so he grabbed the hem of my shirt, he didn't like what he has heard. Asshole.

"No! I need you to find that rogue so I can kill it myself! Do as I say Zionel or you'll regret it!" he muttered against my face like he's some lunatic who hasn't moved on yet.

"You're crazy! We already told you that rogues don't stay too long in one place so we can't find it anymore and you can't treat me like that Jason Lee! Go ahead and break our deal, I'm not f*****g scared of you!" I said while pushing him away, I walked away from him trying to calm myself down. I might kill him instantly if he's near me.

"I know that you like her too Zionel but you won't win her! She's mine!" I stopped into my tracks with his words, a lopsided smirk was forming on my lips before facing him.

"Let's see about that and if I were you? I will lead my hunter army home for them to get some rest and avoid more danger. I'll come to talk to you if we heard something about her and this will be the last time I'll be helping just because of her family," I mumbled and ran away from him before changing into my werewolf form to run across the woods to calm my nerves down.

My mate is mine alone. No one can ever like or own her!
