Emma had been indulged in her carbohydrate lecture. Not only was it one of the most interesting topic, she though, but students eyes always brightened when she spoke about this topic. In the structure, the designations, modifications, its function, glycosidic linkages, difference between beta and alpha linkages, lipid monolayer—all these different topics she had ready on slides that she beamed in excitement to teach.
Except, before she even started her lecture, she heard a Bella cross the halls. Instantly, everyone paused, and she raised an eyebrow, the entire classroom falling into a deep silence. Then, that same bell rang again, and it was only until a student said, "It's a fire drill," that she rolled her eyes and made everyone stand to their feet. Except, she had forgotten to study the fire drill routes, and had no idea where the exits were, or which exit to take. Unfortunately, the most sufficient method she could think of, was to ask the nearby classrooms if they had the fire route plans.
When she reached the nearby classroom, the teacher was already guiding his students to follow him as he was stepping out of his class, and Emma approached him, "Excuse me?"
The teacher faced her, eyed her for a moment before asking, "Yes?"
"I'm new here so I'm not sure which routes to follow." Emma instantly felt flustered, sheepishly glancing elsewhere and not wanting to meet his brilliant green eyes that seemed to examine her soul.
Mr. Avery was known to be the most handsomest professor in the building. He was always seen in their school's workout room after courses, and once he returned home, he would head to the local gym later during the night. All the foods he ate were healthy, and he maintained his lean but muscular appearance, wearing tight shirts that revealed every single shifts in his muscles. He had gorgeous blond curls that bounced vibrantly with every movements, and his glasses on the bridge of his nose was adorable. He had a slicing jaw, sharper than a knife, a straight pointy nose, and a dimple on his right cheek, that Emma instantly noticed with his charming smile.
Mr. Avery pointed to his line, "You can get in line with my students and find your class after."
Emma's face beamed red, and she felt her breath caught in her throat. After a pause, she shook her head, "Y-you probably think I-I'm a student...no, I teach here, I'm a new teacher. I need help guiding my senior biology students—"
"Oh!" That was when Avery took a good look at her, his eyes reaching her heels to the beige blouse she was wearing, and the curls reaching her waistline. Then he said, "have your class follow mine, we probably have the same one since we'd right next to one another."
"Thank you so much Mr...."
"My first name is Bradley, but just call me Brad. I'll wait for you."
Emma hurried back to her classroom, and after rounded her students into a line, they all followed Bradley's class, taking the closest staircase and exiting onto the parking lot. Then, they had to walk across the street to the safest zones, and after making certain all her students were present, she glanced towards Bradley and mouthed a thank you.
He returned a wink in her direction, which caused her heart to begin pounding.
