As Wanda made her way back to her post, she couldn't help thinking about that Caelum person. The day before when he came by the princess' quarters he'd been so sure the princess would agree to see him. The king even seemed rather friendly with him. He was strong too and she didn't say that about a lot of people, if they had actually clashed, she doubted she could ever win as embarrassing as it was to admit.
He didn't seem like a bad person to her but for some reason she couldn't bring herself to like him.
"You took quite some time reporting to the king." Dana's hardened voice brought her out of her thoughts.
"My apologies, I was caught up on the way." Wanda answered with respect.
"I'm hoping it was nothing serious."
"It was nothing."
"Well then get back to your post." With that, Dana walked away.
The woman was the head of the guards assigned to the princess. A retired knight who'd been called back for this very purpose The woman might seem cold at times but there wasn't a kinder soul alive. Dana was somewhat of a mother to Wanda.
An old war had led to the loss of Wanda's family a long time ago. The girl had been five at the time. A child trapped among the rubble of the house she once lived in. The orphanage she lived in was destroyed by enemy soldiers and somehow, Wanda had been the only survivor. Dana, a soldier at the time, had found her trapped beneath the rubble of the building and took her in.
She owed her life to the Dana.
Wanda took her position, guarding the entrance to the princess' wing. As long as she was here, no threat would ever come near the princess.
After his talk with the king, Caelum had nothing to do but roam the castle. He didn't feel the urge to return home yet so he decided to pay a visit to the training grounds.
Of course by this time, the knights would be deep into their training. Men were busy sparring, their swords making clanking sounds as they collided with each other. He soon noticed that the men here were squires and not actual knights. The majority of them looked rather young.
Caelum had once been in their shoes. Though they were lucky his father was no longer the commander.
"Well I'll be damned." A hand landed on Caelum's back, sending the man tumbling forward. With annoyance Caelum turned to see what moron had hit him only to see a familiar face. "How the heck did you get taller than me?"
An unconscious smile made it's way to Caelum's lips as he stared at the person before him. The one he was closest to when he acted as a knight in the castle.
"Nikolai!"
"Long time no see kiddo....Ah I guess I can't call you that anymore." The man eyed Caelum's hulking frame with a look that resembled apprehension more than it did shock. "Damn you got big."
"I can't stay a kid forever you know."
Caelum remembered having to look up at Nikolai but now the two men stood at the same level. Caelum was a few inches taller still.
"This pisses me off for some reason." Nikolai said but smiled. "It good seeing you again. I was kinda worried you wouldn't come back."
No one would have been shocked if he died. After all he was still mortal when he set out to war, heck he was still mortal even now.
"I would die that easily."
"Of course you wouldn't, you're Aldrich's kid after all." Caelum rolled his eyes are the statement. One he hadn't heard in a while.
The men that had been his comrades during the war hadn't known who his father was so there was no one to call him 'Aldrich's son' much to his liking. Caelum was proud of his father, but he didn't appreciate getting constantly compared to the man.
"Did you just get back?" Nikolai asked, his gaze shifting from Caelum to the squires that were training.
"I arrived the day before the last." Caelum answered, following Nikolai's gaze.
"You know usually you get a break before you have to return to the palace." Nikolai briefly turned to look at Caelum before turning back to the squires. "You came back because of the princess didn't you."
When Caelum said nothing in response, Nikolai chuckled inwardly. The demon might've grown but some things never changed. His rather alarming adoration for the princess was still the same even after six years.
"Tell me, how do you sleep with women when it seems like the princess Is the only person in your head?"
"Why would I-....?" Caelum stuttered, his hand moving to rub his heated neck.
"Don't tell me you still haven't slept with anyone?" Nikolai said in an unnecessarily loud, exasperated voice. He managed to draw the attention of some of the squires that were training making Caelum's neck heat up even more.
"Shut the f**k up!" Caelum said through grit teeth. His eyes were wide and his lips trembled a bit almost causing Nikolai to double over with laughter.
"What are you? Like 23? And you still haven't slept with any female. Are you some sort of monk or something? Don't you get any urges?" Nikolai continued to ask.
Demons, just like Werewolves lived by their instincts above all else. It was rare to ever see a demon rein in his desire. They were hedonists by nature, constantly seeking out the pleasures of the flesh be it food, s*x or whatever it may be. The only anomalies to this were the Plaxus demons who prided themselves in their unshaking self control and discipline.
Caelum couldn't pretend like he had no urges. He lusted just like any other demon however he was ashamed to admit that the being who stirred his lust the most was none other than the princess herself. The princess he hadn't laid eyes on in six years. It made absolutely no sense but whenever he imagined what the princess looked like now as a full grown adult, his member would stir in response. Even now his c**k twitched in his trews.
It was shameful of him to think of the princess- who he'd watched grow up- in such a light. He knew this and yet no other woman had the effect she had on him. He couldn't get hard for any other person.
He'd tried it once, to sleep with a female. A young bar maid he'd met in a certain town. She'd been pretty with large brown eyes and beautiful platinum blonde hair and a gorgeous little body that any man would appreciate. Caelum had found her attractive.
He didn't know that it was her hair that piqued his interest. A color similar to Eliora's.
They'd spoken for a while and eventually left to get a room together. All through the encounter, Caelum was unable to get it up. The lady had stormed out that night, annoyed and hurt. It was a shameful encounter he wished to forget. After that, Caelum began to think he had a problem down there but that idea was destroyed with one thought of Eliora.
He felt like a pedophile for it even though he was only four years older than the princess.
"I don't need to talk about this with you." Caelum said trying to sound as calm as possible.
"If you keep it stored up to much you'll only end up exploding." Right now Nikolai sounded like an elder giving a child important life lessons. It annoyed Caelum so much.
Nikolai just had that talent for getting under Caelum's skin.
"You might end up disappointing your mate in bed."
"Just shut the f**k up!" Caelum all but yelled. The squires turned their heads in his direction and Caelum regretted ever coming here.
Nikolai couldn't help it and double over with laughter. How he loved to tease Caelum. It was certainly nice to have the man around.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry.." He said in between laughs, trying to catch his breath once again.
"Shouldn't you be training?" Caelum said with a tired sigh.
"Oh, I'm in charge of training the squires." Nikolai said when he was finally able to regain his composure.
"In charge of the squires and you're here making a fool out of yourself."
"It's fine, they know better than to slack off." Nikolai said calmly. "Anyways, we should spar again sometime. It's been a while, I want to see the skills that kept you from getting killed during the war."
"Sure that would be nic-"
"Caelum!" A voice suddenly called, cutting him off. From a distance he noticed Sabrina walking towards them. "You're here again today."
She had a small smile on her rose coloured lips as she stared at Caelum. Oddly enough, her gaze held an emotion Caelum couldn't decipher and it made him feel uncomfortable for some reason.
"How are you, Sabrina?" He asked, giving her a friendly smile.
"I'm fine, would you like to take a walk?" She asked in a sweet voice as she looked up expectantly. Caelum thought it would be rude to decline.
"Did you perhaps not see him talking to someone?" Nikolai said with an arched brow as he stared down at the female. The smile on his face was completely gone, no trace of it to be found.
Sabrina shot a hard glare in his direction before she turned back to Caelum. Where these two always so unfriendly?
"I'll see you around Nikolai." Caelum said as he followed Sabrina.
After a while of walking in silence, Caelum asked, "Is there something you wanted to talk about?" He asked.
The road they walked on was right beside the princess' garden. For that reason, it was deserted. No one used this route so as not to disturb the princess. If you looked up, you could see the balcony that was attached to her room.
"Do i-" Sabrina started speaking but her voice faded out as Caelum stared in complete shock at the figure that just came through the balcony doors.
With a thin robe over her silk nightdress and her white hair messily packed up. Eliora stood before him in the flesh and blood. Not a child, she was definitely not a child! Her breasts were full as they pressed against the thin fabric she wore. He faintly noted the curve of her hips through the loose night gown and want surged through him like never before. A foreign feeling.
She stretched out her body and gave out a small yawn before rubbing her sleepy eyes awake. She blinked a couple times before her lovely blue eyes settled on a flower bed below her. Caelum's eyes fed on the princess' beauty, marvelling at the ethereal creature that had no knowledge of his presence or sinful gaze.
Heaven help him, she was gorgeous. Extremely so.
"Caelum!" Sabrina yelled getting upset that he wasn't paying attention to her. She tracked his gaze to the princess' balcony but by then the princess was walking back into her room. Still she knew just what had gotten his attention.
