Eliora never took that necklace off. No matter the reason. Ever since her return from the Kale kingdom, the necklace became a part of her. It was around her neck even while she slept.
She'd kicked up a fuss, the day a maid tried to take it off her. It always lingered on Nora's mind, how did the girl get the necklace? It was because of it Nora was able to find her but she couldn't shake off her curiosity. Whoever gave the necklace was a secret blessing.
Present Time
"You must be so damn happy!" Jasper said as he slapped Caelum on the back. "Finally get to see that pretty girlfriend of yours."
"For the last time, she isn't my girlfriend." Caelum said as he pushed the man's heavy hand away. "She's just the lady I used to work for."
"So you want your former lady for your own eh." The ginger man said with a laugh.
"It's nothing like that." He said before he chugged down on a glass of beer. "Besides, she's probably forgotten about me by now." It had been years since he last saw her and she'd been young too. She probably didn't remember him anymore.
Caelum didn't realize his voice betrayed his emotions. Ever since he left the castle, he'd only ever gotten one letter from the princess. He tried to act nonchalant about it but times like these made it obvious how he really felt.
"And that doesn't bother you?" Jasper asked with a raised brow.
"Not at all." A huge lie from Caelum.
"Right....." Jasper rolled his eyes and chuckled. He saw a man trying to deny his feelings. Something Caelum always did whenever it came to his little lady.
'She's like a sister to me.' The demon always said despite how obvious it was he wished they were more.
The sarcastic tone in Jasper's voice annoyed Caelum for some reason. No matter how many times he tried to explain his relationship with Eliora, this demon chose to believe Caelum had feelings for her. Eliora was like a little sister to him. Nothing more.
In a matter of days he would finally be able to see her again. He felt extremely excited for no reason. It was just the princess. The bratty princess that annoyed him all those times. There was no reason to be this excited. But damn he couldn't wait to see those bright blue eyes again.
It had been six years. He wondered how much she'd changed within that time. He'd definitely changed since then. His body was bulkier and he was taller. There was a huge difference between him now and the boy who used to be the princess' guard.
What did Eliora look like now? He'd last seen her just before she turned fourteen. she would be twenty now. No longer a child but a full grown woman. The moment he thought of her as an adult, body ripe and ready to be plucked, his c**k throbbed painfully in response. The force of arousal almost knocked the air out of his lungs. He sucked in a breath and adjusted himself on his seat. Thankfully the room was dim and the table hid his rigid member.
With his right hand holding his glass, he ran the left one over the front of his pants. Easy little guy. He couldn't understand why his body reacted so violently to a mere thought of Eliora. It wasn't like he thought of her in that way. She was still the little princess to him.
Yet his body said otherwise. His c**k stood at attention. And so long as Eliora remained on his mind, it wasn't going down.
"Stop teasing him Jasper. She's just like a baby sister to him." Hera said as she dropped into the seat directly beside Caelum.
"You mean you hope she is." Jasper said with a smirk. It was known to all men around here that Hera was attracted to Caelum but unfortunately for the demoness, Caelum was the one male here who wouldn't bat an eye at her despite her devilish beauty.
She was one of the few female soldiers who partook in the war. Hera was a powerful soldier, gender had nothing to do with it. She easily rivalled the men here.
Not only was she incredibly strong, she was also extremely beautiful. Her eyes were the color of honey and her hair jet black. She had a somewhat feline appearance that the men seemed to adore. All except Caelum of course. And he just happened to be the one man she was attracted to.
"You could never compare to an innocent and fragile young lady." Jasper continued, enjoying the way her face contorted in anger. "You're more of an ape compared to her."
"You little..."
"Take your fight elsewhere. Thank you." Caelum said with his hand still in front of his pants, trying to hide his erection.
Hera gave Jasper a hard glare then turned back to Caelum.
"Not everyone is interested in a fragile little lady, right Caelum?" Hera asked expecting Caelum to support her. She expertly glided her finger over his arm.
Almost instantly, his erection was gone. All that was in place was a feeling of ire.
"I'm not interested in this conversation." He said, casually pulling his arm away from Hera. Jasper snickered in his seat and then brought his glass of ale to his lips.
Caelum ignored the two and observed his surroundings. The room was full of hustle and bustle. Music played loudly, men laughed, it was a typical scene of merry. There was the occasional clank of glasses as they made contact with either the table or each other. The war had finally ended and Driskula emerged as the victor. So it was no surprise that the men were happy.
After a six year war, they were all excited to go home. Some of these men were mated, they were eager to get home to their significant others. Even the one who seemed like an i***t, Jasper, had a wife and even a daughter. His daughter had been two years old when he last saw her. The man bragged about how clever she was and always shoved pictures of her in people's faces.
The man was a slave to his wife and child. A dedicated father despite his outward appearance.
Hera still made attempts to form small talk with Caelum but the man's mind was elsewhere. After he returned home, he would go to the palace next. Find a way to see the princess.
Eventually the demoness gave up and went to have fun with others. Caelum and Jasper continued talking and drinking. Gradually the booze began to hit them.
"You know something kiddo? You got to lock that little lady of yours the moment you get back lest you gonna regret it." Jasper slurred.
"She's not my little lady." Caelum said or at least that was what he intended to say. With how drunk he was there was a possibility he fumbled his words without realizing.
"You keep telling yourself that. If you don't get her while you can, some other lad's gonna snatch her from right under ya nose...." Jasper trailed off before his head slammed down on the wooden table. The man was out. Caelum chuckled when the man began to snore but the words he'd spoken left a sour taste in his mouth.
Thinking of Eliora with someone made him feel uncomfortable. He couldn't quite place it. Eventually the princess would meet her mate and settle down so Caelum didn't understand the unreasonable feeling in his gut.
If only she could remain his.
Wide eyed, Caelum shook his head to clear his thoughts. It was probably the booze making him think this way, there's no way he just thought of keeping the princess to himself. If anyone heard him they'd think he was mad.
Perhaps he was indeed mad.
Because the thought of her being his made his member stir. This was all so wrong. This was a girl he'd watched grow up yet he was here getting hard for her.
Caelum didn't know when he fell unconscious on the table.
