There are only two ways to get to the Ridgeline Restaurant. You either hike up the side of the mountain on foot, or you ride the gondola. That’s how we found out that Alice is actually scared of heights. Not just a little scared like a normal person, but full-on panicked. Her hands were shaking, she was pale and sweating, her heart was racing, and I could actually feel her anxiety through the mating bond... even though we hadn’t completed the ritual.
Okay, so maybe the Ridgeline hadn’t been the best choice. The restaurant was perched on the top of the mountain overlooking a ski resort. It was popular with tourists during the peak seasons, but now, in the middle of summer, it was almost deserted.
