The sudden change from darkness to light made it difficult to really see my surroundings. I was once again in a hot sun, but this time I landed on my hands and knees on a stone pavement. Edric fell down beside me. I heard someone cursing at me, and the two of us rolled aside before we were run over by a car. “Stay.” Edric ordered me and conjured the black mist around him. It wasn’t like he gave me much choice, but I still didn’t like the idea of him ordering me around.
