The sudden change from darkness to light made it difficult to really see my surroundings. I was once again in a hot sun, but this time I landed on my hands and knees on a stone pavement. Edric fell down beside me. I heard someone cursing at me, and the two of us rolled aside before we were run over by a car.
“Stay.” Edric ordered me and conjured the black mist around him. It wasn’t like he gave me much choice, but I still didn’t like the idea of him ordering me around. He disappeared in the dark mist, like he had never been there in the first place, and left me on the strange pavement.
We weren’t in Colombia anymore, that was for sure. I sat down on the sidewalk, my feet throbbing with pain. The buildings were tall and made out of dark red bricks, in the distance I could see a shopping
